Mothers’ Day this year coincided with my birthday, making it doubly special. My Mom told me I was born on Mothers’ Day so you can imagine my joy when I finally qualify to celebrate this day after Dana came along. For my birthday, the husband sent a rose floral bouquet and a dear friend surprised me with a cheery yellow Gerbera table arrangement which instantly warmed my heart and lit up our home.

After church, we joined the extended family for lunch at the Peony Jade Restaurant at Keppel Club. We liked its chic Chinese decor and fresh dim-sums, one of the best well-kept secrets this part of Singapore.

We also polished off the delicious Häagen-Dazs’ ‘Heart of Perfection’ luscious Strawberry Ice-Cream Cake within minutes – a beautifully handcrafted ice cream cake coated with nougat and decorated with delicate pink chocolate hearts, all topped with a crown of frozen strawberries. It was so so good.

After lunch, all of us adjourned to Resort World’s Sentosa for a fun day out in the sun.
It was a heartwarming Mothers’ Day spent with my favourite people in the world, surrounded by my favourite things. How did you spend your Mothers’ Day this year?
