West Coast Park is a child’s fantasy come true.
With the theme “Play Centre in the West“, West Coast Park underwent major redevelopments in 2000 and has since been transformed into a haven for park goers who enjoy challenging and adventurous activities. Standing at the centre of the park is an amazing Adventure Play Area which is one of the largest in Singapore with play equipment such as ‘Tall Rope Pyramid’ and ‘Flying Fox’. It’s no wonder this park is teeming with families and children in tow on weekends and weekday evenings, flying kites, having picnic, camping in tents, playing soccer or simply just enjoying some outdoor time together. We like to visit West Coast Park early in the morning when the environment’s still quiet and peaceful and Dana can have the entire park (well, almost) to herself!
Here are some reasons why we love our spot at West Coast Park:
1. It’s a fun park to be with tons of activities to drain out engage the kids!
You can conquer your fear of heights by ascending this Tall Rope Pyramid…
3. It’s a stone’s throw from where we live!
Having been a ‘Westerner’ all my life, I’ve sort of taken West Coast Park for granted (apart from the occasional BBQs during my teenaged days). When we have decided to set up our 1st matrimonial home in Clementi, hubs lamented that he wished we live nearer East Coast Park but after the redevelopment, we’re now proud to have a nice, decent park in our own backyard. Yeah!
Our accessibility to WCP also meant Daddy can whiz Dana off to the park on days when he knocks off work early before the sun sets. These are the ‘bonus’ hours where Daddy and Dana can spend quality time together!
4. Activities are centrally located and plenty of facilities for park goers!
Other facilities Available at West Coast Park: Barbecue pits, Children’s playground, Cycling track, Dog run corner, Exercise garden, Fitness corner, Jogging path/ running track, Restrooms, Picnic Shelters, Sand play area, Health & fitness activities, Camping Site. The Park is lit from 7pm to 7am.
5. Little ones are not left out!
West Coast Park is a one-stop family destination, with fun play options even for the younger kids! Check these out tactile activities for the toddlers:
The park’s not merely a place to expend the little ones’ energy. It presents many opportunities to teach our young about perseverance, creativity, resilience and of course, healthy living. When we were there for this blog’s photo trail, Dana was inspired by this miniature rock wall and she kept pushing her boundaries to scale greater heights!

Its been a while since we went back to West Coast Park – your beautiful photos reminded me that I ought to bring the little boy there very soon! Is it still the same as I remembered it? The trees are quite short in West Coast Park and there are not many shady areas around the park, vs East Coast Park.

Hi Mummybean
thanks for your compliments! WCP has evolved to be such a lovely park with tons of photo-ops. Do bring Noey and meimei there for a fun day out again this long weekend if your schedules permit 🙂
Hi Rachel
WCP has lots of fun elements to keep the boy occupied. There are more trees now and you can see lots of families enjoying picnic and kite flying esp on weekends. You should revisit it someday soon! 🙂

It must have been like a decade since I went to WCP. Especially since I live in the East. =) Awesome pics and I think I’m going to pay this beautiful another visit when I get back! =)
