Undoubtedly, Christmas is many people’s favourite season of the year. However, with less children believing in Christmas, Santa is unable to wake up from his deep slumber. Seeing this as an opportunity, Grumpo The Greedy Elf decides to take over as Chief Inventor in Santa’s workshop, with one sinister goal: to ruin Christmas forever.
Now, it is only up to Junior Claus (Santa’s rebellious son) to save the day but he decides to run away from home. Will Junior Claus return home to save Santa? Can he rekindle the Christmas spirit? Come cheer for Junior Claus and his friends, Chipper the Elf and Pengy the Penguin, as they race against time to bring Christmas back.
An SRT production, Junior Claus is a touching play that captures the true meaning of Christmas by sharing with the audience the importance of cherishing family ties and friendships instead of material possessions. Kate Golledge, who directed TLC’s previous plays The Nightingale, Red Riding Hood and Fantastic Mr. Fox, returns to direct this Christmas Musical. With upbeat tunes and engaging dialogue, Junior Claus bring the magic of Christmas alive this holiday season, making it a festive ‘MUST-WATCH’ musical treat for all families!

This will be our first year celebrating Christmas as a family with children. We haven’t been celebrating the festival for 2 years now due to 2 difficult pregnancies that got me bedridden and we really miss having a tree in the house. So starting this year, I want to make an advent calendar tradition for the children. A little gift each day in December would definitely make every child look forward to Christmas with excitement.
I’d like to bring my family to watch Junior Claus because my 2 year old is going through a rebellious stage. I want to take the opportunity to impart the importance of kinship and good behaviour through a play.
Gordon Ngiam says
Further to add my family tradition is to go view the Christmas lightings in town.

We always gather at a family friend’s for Xmas dinner, but never really have anything else planned for the season – so having a planned family outing that’ll give a taste of what Xmas really is and teach our son it’s true meaning thru drama would be a very nice effective change this year! Perfect with our little one’s grandparent joining as a 4th too! 😉

My family Christmas gathering is having a bbq together. We have been doing this for years and hope the tradition will continue when my kids grow up.
I will like to bring my din and nieces for the show.
Wendy Tay says
Our family tradition for Christmas is that for the 1-2 weeks leading to Christmas, we will actually be talking about the times when our kids had been ‘naughty’ and ‘nice’. This creates a suspense for our kids as they will wander if Santa will visit.
This also make them think about how they have been behaving, and if they can be better in any way.
My kids and I will also be making some little gifts (like bracelets, bookmarks, keychains, rings, coin pouches) for our family and closer friends. We do this to remind the kids that we should show some appreciation and share the joy around.
I hope to bring my kids to watch “Junior Claus” to reinforce that family stays with you, and true friends will support you when doing the right things.
Of course, it will be a wonderful festive entertainment for the kids as well.
Thanks for playing ‘Santa’ early!
