The only problem with this show is…that it had to end. Not to be confused with Cirque Du Soleil (though they both originate from Canada), Cirque Eloize iD is a circus act that centers around the urban street scene -think West Side Story, break dancing, graffiti-sprayed walls etc.…Blending jaw dropping, circus acts which include street bikes, contortionist, in-line skating and more that blew our mind away! In fact it is the street setting, a less theatrical setting which the general … [Read more...]

Chingay 2016 – The Jewel of our Multicultural Celebration
If there’s one community event that was memorable for us in SG50, it was Chingay 2015. So it is with great excitement when we knew we were invited to be part of Chingay 2016 again. Well, our expectations were surpassed in every way. Chingay 2016 is bigger, better with not one but a few fiery dragons to boot. There is even a huge 'balloon' dragon ‘gliding’ gracefully through the air and interacting with the crowds seating on the spectator stands at the F1 pit building. Chingay is not only … [Read more...]
DIY Japan – Kyoto…and a fond Sayonara
I have a couple of confessions about this post. Confession 1: This is a long delayed post and I have very good reasons to procrastinate – I just didn’t want to say ‘farewell’ to our first Japan trip which we did DIY-style. Confession 2: Kyoto is chronologically not our last stop. Osaka was but I’ve decided to make Kyoto our last post to wrap up the entire ‘epic’ Japan vacation. Why Kyoto? Quite simply because of all the places we’ve visited this trip, Kyoto left the most … [Read more...]
Lesson from a Broken Glass…
Photo Credit It’s one of those phone numbers I saved for ease of use but interestingly, when it flashed on my phone early one Monday morning (ya, Monday), I wished I wasn’t staring at the very number I saved, because it sent thousands of alarm bells ringing in those 3 seconds or so that it was flashing - ‘School’. It couldn’t that she had forgotten to bring something important as we had personally gone through the schoolbag the night before, including forms to submit and a twig she was to … [Read more...]

Best of all, parents can witness their kids in action! It's like an amusement park but better - kids learn, kids share with their parents and families grow closer together from the entire experience! Singapore's very own KidZania is almost ready for boarding! Concept of KidZania KidZania (which … [Read more...]
The Singapore Airshow 2016: Where dreams take flight
You know what they say about having to involve a whole village to raise a child? Well…hold on to that thought. The Singapore Airshow returns this year with displays and aerial showcases that promises to be bolder, better. Judging from what we saw at the preview hosted by our very own RSAF (Republic of Singapore Air Force), that promise is certainly a reality. Even as we prepare ourselves to be impressed by the latest aerial acrobats and marvel at those magnificent flying machines the … [Read more...]

Samsung Galaxy View – Live, Laugh & Learn Together!
There are a few things I have had to come to terms with as a parent with a school-going children in this connected age. First, the reality that the online world is going to very much a part of our children’s lives (whether we like it or not). Second, before whatever out there gets to them, as parents, I have better ‘get to them’ first. Indeed, there is no escaping the online world. As it is, we work with it, learn from it and live with it daily on a 24/7 basis. Some of us … [Read more...]
