In less than 10 hours, we will be counting down to yet another brand new year. 2012 has been a somewhat stressful year. Work hasn't been smooth-sailing for Daddy; Dana met two freak accidents which left a permanent scar on her chin. Added to that were the maid woes that plagued us after our trusted helper left...there were nights where we literally cry out to the Lord to deliver us from all these trials. Despite the challenges and struggles, God has still proven to be faithful, good and … [Read more...]

Spead Kindness: Change for Good!
December sees one of the highest air passenger traffic with many of us taking time off to bring our families for a well-deserved year end vacation; to reunite with loved ones staying abroad or simply explore new sights and make memories as a family. On board our recent flight back from Korea, we led Dana to do a simple act of kindness by donating our leftover Korean won to Unicef's 'Change for Good®' Programme. The 'Change for Good®' … [Read more...]
Wordless Wednesday: The best gifts are those from the heart…
Christmas is the most magical time of the year, with fairy lights glistening, carols singing and loved ones gathering. This year, Dana and I took time to put together these jars filled to the brim with good quality cookie ingredients as our family gift for our neighbours, Dana's music classmates and Daddy's colleagues. In a spontaneous moment of creativity, we did two versions of these Cranberry Chocolate DIY Cookie Mix - one in a glass jar (bought from TOTT) and the other in a plastic bauble … [Read more...]

Weekend Wandering: Fun at The City!
Many people often think of play in the form of playing catch, playground time on swings and slides, kite flying, swimming and other physical activities. But physical play is not the only kind of play. Pretend play (or imaginative play) plays an equal (if not more important) role in a child’s cognitive and social development. Harnessing the benefits of pretend play, THE CITY - Singapore's newest interactive playground was officially launched yesterday on 15 December 2012.Within THE CITY, young … [Read more...]

Christmas is that special time of year when we count our blessings and consider ways to be a blessing to those around us. Christmas is also an apt season to practise random acts of kindness simply out of the will to extend goodness, person to person, without expecting anything in return. Yesterday, our cell members rallied together to do just that though a Christmas block visitation. Our Adopted Block...The block we adopted consists of all lower income households living in 1-3 room rental … [Read more...]

UFamily Night Out: MegaDance
We attended NTUC UFamily's MegaDance on a Saturday night, 24 Nov 2012 at the The Coliseum™, Hard Rock® Hotel Singapore. Our very own hip-hop dancer-wannabe!Dana and Daddy love dancing and the duo has been eagerly looking forward to the MegaDance event by practising the Gangnam Style at home. However, due to heavy traffic on the AYE, we arrived late at half past 7, only to miss the opening dance. This did not dampen our spirits. We saw many parents and children humming along to the catchy … [Read more...]

The Christmas tree is up, with it, our favourite Christmas carols plays in the background and an atmosphere of peace and joy fills the air. It is an annual tradition for us to put up the tree to usher in our favourite month of the year and we rope in Dana to dress it up with ornaments, many of which Daddy and I accumulated from our travels around the world.
