We are Singapore
Singapore’s National Day Parade is an annual celebration for the entire country. This year’s theme, ‘We are Singapore’ celebrates the essence of what makes us ‘Singapore’. It promises to be a moving and inclusive tribute to the everyday folks who make up the very DNA of our nation. This includes revisiting all-time favorite NDP tunes (love this year’s NDP theme song!) as well as hearing inspiring tales of extraordinary Singaporeans who had overcome major challenges in their lives to reach their dreams.
Special Parade Features and Timings.
Included in this year’s parade are these new elements:
Sky-diving Navy Divers – For the first time in NDP history, the Navy Divers from the Republic of Singapore Navy will parachute down and dive straight into the bay in full combat gear. Think Red Lions in wet suit and flippers! This is no mean feat as wearing dive suits and flippers affect the dynamics of skydiving significantly.
‘Winged’ Red Lions – The perennial favourites, The Red Lions from the Singapore Armed Forces will don winged suits for the very first time as part of their parachute drop. This will allow them greater maneuverability in the air as they approach the drop zone. Look out for them!
RSAF50 Aerial Display – The Republic of Singapore Air Force celebrates its 50th year. In addition to their RSAF50 in the Heartlands roadshows, the RSAF will wow the crowd with an aerial display and flypast that Singapore has not seen before. In fact, more than 20 over aircraft from the RSAF will be involved in this year’s NDP. These fly past will be during the pre-parade and parade segment.
