I had wanted to jump straight into its many wonderful features but I really had to say that first.

All parents can agree with me that homes with young children have one thing in common – food crumbs and dirt – think bread and biscuit crumbs, chunks of soil, grass etc…I think you get the picture. What’s ‘Fluffy’?

The Dyson V8 Fluffy is the result of USD330 million worth of R&D investment by Dyson. Named after the revolutionary new cleaning head that forgoes the traditional spinning brush for a series of large soft nylon pads which are then interposed with carbon fibre filaments. The result is a vacuum that has the best of both worlds. The large pads are capable of grabbing fine dust while the carbon fibre filaments can then take hold of larger debris.

The result is one of Dyson’s most efficient cordless vacuums yet, capable of picking up 1kg of dust and dirt in just four seconds.  Absolutely revolutionary!

With the Dyson V8 Fluffy, it is so handy to just whip it out and off we go vacuuming every mess that are synonymous with kids. The Dyson V8 Fluffy is so light and flexible, it feels like an extension of our arms as we zip it around the moment the kids introduce dirt into the home or as and when the little ones dropped crumbs at mealtimes. Because the Dyson V8 Fluffy is so light, compact and convenient, taking it out to use is no hassle at all. In fact, it has become more of a 2nd nature for us to use it multiple times a day. So, never mind if a vacuum can suck a huge bowling ball or uses 1000w, question is can it effectively vacuum the microscopic particles, keep them inside the vacuum cleaner before we properly dispose of them?
• The suction power of conventional vacuum cleaners may decrease as the bag is being filled. Reduced space in the bag translates into reduced suction power.

The Dyson digital motor V8 runs at 425W, compared to the previous generation V6 motor’s 350W. The motor spins at up to 110,000rpm, and has upgraded drive electronics and software. Powered by new fade-free nickel-cobalt-aluminium batteries, the Dyson digital motor V8 delivers more power over a longer run-time. On Max mode, the Dyson V8 offers higher suction for more difficult tasks, and is activated with a more intuitive new switch. It provides 115AW of suction, compared to100AW on previous generation machines.

Battery: Run-time for the Dyson V8 is up to 40 minutes, compared to 20 minutes on previous generation machines. Fade-free nickel-cobalt-aluminium batteries ensure suction starts strong and stays strong. A new battery runtime indicator gives the user a visual indication of cleaning time remaining.
