Happy Food in KL
During our recent visit to KidZania KL, we had lunch at the original Madam Kwan's restaurant at the One Utama Mall (right next to the One World Hotel where we stayed). The Nasi Bojari (tri-coloured rice) which I ordered came in a nice platter with fried chicken, rendang beef and sambal prawn. Daddy ordered their signature Nasi Lemak. Both were delicious but what was really irresistible was their Chendol topped with a generous serving of red beans. We hardly find such yummy Chendols in … [Read more...]
Daddy & Dana Duet – Rufus
Dana has been learning piano for close to a year now and becoming more proficient in sight reading. It gives us immense delight to hear her tinkle away at the piano whenever we're home. During one of the regular evening piano practices last week, Daddy and Dana decided to bless me with this beautiful duet. For Daddy, the day has arrived much faster than he had expected - being able to duet with his precious princess. I believe his heart must have swelled twice its capacity that … [Read more...]
Living for the ‘Better Days’…
Had a great weekend just past. It was one of the 'better days' - it's been a long while since I was happy with how the weekend turned out and I even went to bed on Sunday night contented instead of shortchanged. No, we didn't have the chance to sleep in nor did we check out any quaint cafes or embark on any ambitious road trips. No, I didn't do any shopping (we didn't even step foot in any shopping malls the entire weekend - incredible!), didn't catch any movies or even have my usual … [Read more...]
Redoxon Kids Vitamin C Gummies – You see immunity, your child sees fun!
As a working Mom, we made a tough decision to put Dana in infant care when she was a mere six months old baby. With proximity and close interaction with other infants and kids, we were playing 'catch up' to build her immune system with our monthly visits to the pediatrician. Of all the vitamins that are essential for children, we found out shortly that our best bet to protect her from falling prey to common colds and infections was to ensure her intake of Vitamin C was sufficient. Life in the … [Read more...]
Mid-Autumn Festival at The Gardens By the Bay!
Come celebrate at Gardens By The Bay!When was the last time you did something spontaneous? We did just that last night when we decided to pop by Gardens by the Bay at 9pm after both of us returned home from a long, tiring work week. The Gardens is beautiful by day and so resplendent by night. The cool breeze also made the walk very pleasant. If you're free this weekend, do bring your family there to soak in the Mid-Autumn splendor at The Gardens. Visitors get to enjoy 15% discount off … [Read more...]
3 Cheers for Charly T’s!
Charly T's is a cosy family restaurant where all the dishes on its menu are culled from Charly's Travels (Hence, the name Charly T's). Apparently, Charly (presumably the founder) was so inspired with the food he encountered on his extensive travels that he decided to set up a restaurant as a tribute to his food journeys across the globe. From the rotisserie chicken in Hamburg to the Kalua pork in Hawaii, there's something to please everyone's taste buds.Embark on a Food Journey with Charly … [Read more...]
One World Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
We are thankful that despite our hectic schedules, we were able to set aside time to make a short trip to Kuala Lumpur during the September School Vacation. Our sole purpose was to bring the princess to visit KidZania KL. At our friend's recommendation, we booked our two nights' stay at the One World Hotel for three reasons:1. Favourable reviews on Trip Advisor (an important determining factor in my choice of accommodation) 2. Free daily Shuttle Bus Service to KidZania KL … [Read more...]
12 Tips to maximise your day at Kidzania Kuala Lumpur!
During the September school vacation, we specially booked a flight and made a short 3D2N trip to Kuala Lumpur just to bring Dana to Kidzania! KidZania originated in Mexico and currently has 8 other KidZania worldwide in Santa Fe, Monterrey, Tokyo, Koshien, Jakarta, Lisbon, Dubai and Seoul. Unlike traditional theme parks, there are no arcade games and no rides. Instead, KidZania is a safe and interactive edutainment (education & entertainment) park where children can lead … [Read more...]
A reminder to parents : What a 4 year old should know…
While we were on vacation last week, I chanced upon this thought-provoking note on my FB feed written by an American preschool teacher in South Africa. It paints the state of mind of modern day parenting accurately; very often, we fall prey to parenting our kids in a rat race, starting from preschool age, we herd them from one enrichment class after another and pack the schedules with tuition and other home-learning activities. We want to empower them with knowledge but in the process, we … [Read more...]
