The LKY Musical – A Musical We’re Proud To Call Our Own
Let me ‘cut to the chase’ and in typical efficient Singaporean style, tell you firstly that though I’m not one who shed a tear easily, this musical moved me. But it certainly didn’t begin that way. You see, I had no inkling what to expect. Riding on the SG50 year, there have been some prominent productions on Singapore’s history which have unfortunately missed the mark. Therefore it is with this mix of anticipation and apprehension that we took our seats in … [Read more...]

He weighs nearly 12kg now, and is so mobile now that he no longer is content to stay in his play yard or cot for longer than 10 minutes. These are what he can do at 13 months: A crew cut for our active Buddy cos he perspires perpetually! claps and smiles to welcome us when he sees us step … [Read more...]

On Our Top 10 Most Popular Singapore Blogs Award 2015 Win
By any account it was a long and lousy day. Due to some contingencies at work, the day had stretched into the evening and the evening into night. Plans to have dinner with Angie and attend the Singapore Blog Awards night together had to be shelved. By the time I reached home, the kids were fast asleep – kind of like the same way I left them when I left for work early in the morning at 6:30am. It is exactly this sort of day that inspired me to write – a day in the life of a working parent, … [Read more...]
Supporting Bereaved Parents in Singapore
The morning air was still. I switched on my mobile to get updates of a baby girl whom we've been praying for the day before. Her Mommy is a mutual friend who had appealed to us to "PRAY! Z is not breathing, did CPR, managed to get light breathing back and are awaiting ambulance to arrive...". It broke my heart to learn that Baby Z passed on at 8:30pm last night, 21 July 2015. Baby Z was only two months old... The death of a child can happen in the best of families and to the most capable, … [Read more...]

The landscaping at DisneySea - detailed and realistic. Set against the evening sky, it is stunning! Fresh from our resounding conquest of Tokyo Disneyland the day before, we were psyched to explore the world’s one and only Tokyo DisneySea. This time, we aimed to conquer all the Fast Past (FP) rides and some of the major shows recommended by travel websites. Introduction to DisneySea: Ariel's Mermaid Lagoon - colourful and playful with lots of fun for the whole family. The Waterfront … [Read more...]
Singin’ in the Rain – Toe-tapping, Splish-splashing, Side-splitting Musical!
Like most, what comes to mind when we hear of 'Singin’ in the Rain' is the iconic scene of screen legend Gene Kelly totally soaked and dancing in the rain to the infectious title tune but beyond that, we've only got scant impressions of what the musical is about. But after last night, I’m happy to say that for this seasoned musical-going family, not anymore. Most musicals that have graced the stage of the MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore have reputations that preceded them, … [Read more...]
Moving, Mesmerizing, Magical! Disney on Classic – A Magical Night Asia Tour 2015 (SEA Premiere)
While we are all very familiar with Disney animations and musicals (and definitely not unfamiliar with Disneylands), we were not quite sure what to expect from this orchestral concert apart from knowing that it would be live singing and live orchestra on stage. As it turns out, this is one superb concert, one that every child or every child at heart should not miss. Conducted by illustrious Disney composer and conductor, Brad Kelly and boasting a New York cast of 8 veteran Disney singers, it … [Read more...]
