Dana came home from school last week and excitedly reminded me that we need to get gifts for Teachers’ Day. So Mommy decided that this year, we will bless the teachers with something simple but heartfelt. I involved Dana in the preparation of these homemade Double Berries Jams – from dicing the fruits, stirring them continuously to bring to a boil, to placing the finishing touch by sticking the gift tags on. We hope that as the teachers relish the jams (with bread, scones, waffles or ice-creams), they will feel appreciated knowing we made these with them in mind.
To accompany the jams, I rummaged my stash of scrapbook materials from eons ago. Dana was running a high viral fever of 39.5C the night she made these cards but she persisted in penning a short message behind each card for the teachers. She even wrote one in Tagalog for her Form Teacher, Aunty Vel who’s from the Philippines (with a little translation help from our domestic help Lynn).
We wish all Teachers a Blessed Teachers’ Day 2013! For inspiring, moulding and loving our kids as your own, you are owed such tremendous gratitude for all that you do.
