thanks for dropping by the blog. Each year’s weather condition differs so we would recommend you check the weather forecasts before deciding if you want to proceed with self-drive. You can also post the same query on Trip Advisor forums to get more seasoned travellers’ opinions.
Hi, I read from your Hokkaido post that your daughter first traveled when she was only 7 months old. Could you please share where did your family travel to? And special preparation needed?
thanks for dropping by our blog. Yes we brought our daughter Dana to Melbourne when she was 7 months old. We brought along her milk power, diapers and all other baby necessities. Everywhere we go, we baby-carried her in our trusty ERGO carrier. It worked out well!
Hi, I’m planning on a 10 day self drive(Feb 2026, I always plan very early) around Sapporo & Hokkaido. Read your blog.Very good advice. I have driven In Belgium, Netherlands, France, New Zealand, Australia and most recently in Italy & Switzerland. Unfortunately all the countries i dove in, i did not experience snowfall on roads so I’m very concerned about safety on snowy roads. As i,v said, ur blog is very informative n helpful to others wanting to drive in Sapporo/Hokkaido
