A walk through PasarBella…
Rainy Saturday morn...after dropping Dana off at her Mandarin class, the hubs and I detoured to Grandstand at Turf City for our morning cuppa and grocery shopping. We took a slow walk through the half-completed PasarBella Farmers' Market which was inspired by other farmers' markets around the world. We love the rustic, charming vibe of the market and its whimsical open-concept store fronts. Wordless Wednesday: We can Hadouken!
Inspired by the video game 'Street Fighter', Hadouken (波動拳) is the latest viral internet trend that started with schoolgirls in Japan, but has since taken on a life of its own (Source). Hadouken can take on many different forms: some people smash the ground to create a shock wave, others spread out their arms to send their energy in two different directions. After last Wed's 'ZeroToTen' Camwhore Experiment, the same group of SMB friends decided that we should challenge ourselves … [Read more...]

Night bike training... We have an ambitious goal to teach Dana to ride a two wheeler by the end of the year but the first few training sessions didn't go as well as we had hoped. Daddy had simply removed the extra training wheel from her existing bicycle and hope she can master the art of balancing on a two wheeler through repeated trial and errors. Standing on the sideline cheering her on, I could sense her frustrations and disappointments...Her self-confidence took a good … [Read more...]
Caring for our Eyes with 3M LED6000 Lamp
Cultivating the ability to read and a love for reading is an integral part of every child’s developmental process. As parents, we all want our children to have good eyesight so that their learning development will not be impaired. However, with the popularity of hand-held devices for both recreational and educational usages, it is no wonder that Singapore’s myopia rate among children between the ages of 7 to 9 is the HIGHEST in the world! The same research also found the worrying trend … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesday: Counting 1 to 10
Woke up to a thundery morn but thankfully it's a Wednesday and Daddy could send us to school and work. While we were stuck in slow moving traffic, I whipped out the camera and snapped Dana doing the #Zero to Ten Sg Camwhore Theory popularised by this hilarious #Asians at Work YouTube clip. Click to enlarge the collage...I'm thankful the rain did not dampen the Princess's mood and her spontaneity certainly brightened up mine too. Have a good mid week and travel safe! … [Read more...]
The Magical World of the Deep Blue Sea…
Having just brought Dana to the world's largest aquarium last week, I've decided to raid her extensive collection of books to unearth some thematic books on Marine Life to capitalise on our visit. I was pleased to find these titles which we will be relishing the next couple of evenings. Whenever possible, I've also indicated the Call Numbers from the NLB Catalogue for the convenience of those who may not have these titles on hand. Join us as we journey into the magical world of the … [Read more...]
