The traditional Nasi Lemak recipe is presented like a large 8-inch birthday cake, the flavours and ingredients of the Nasi Lemak Cake a symbolic gesture towards the multicultural heritage we have in Singapore. As a nod to our ethnic diversity, Nasi Lemak Indulgence pieced together this perfect combination of natural ingredients, each with a symbolic meaning – Chinese: Shrimp Paste Chicken, Malay: Sambal Goreng Tempeh and Sambal. Indian: Papadam Crackers and even Peranakan with its Blue Pea Rice (yes! So sedap!). This Nasi Lemak Cake befits the occasion of Singapore’s 55th birthday! A must-try!

Gourmet 5-course National Day Mini Buffet from Amici Catering:
We have tasted selections from many party caterers but found AMICI’s to be outstanding in its East-Western fusion inspired dishes. We enjoyed the generous Western cuisine spread that comes with selections like Roasted Mushrooms with Caramelised Onions and Oven Roasted Rosemary Chicken drizzled with its signature Brown Sauce. It even has a vegan option that includes Fusilli Siciliana with Aubergine and Zucchini.

Three Wisemen’s summer exclusive Nana Sling cocktail blend ($90, set of 5 x 120ml bottles) is made with Brugal Rum infused with banana leaves. This tropical beverage also combines zesty Cointreau and freshly-squeezed lemon juice with homemade orange blossom water and pomegranate syrup to balance the cocktail with a deep and sweet fragrance. Refreshing and rejuvenating!

Petale Assorted Blooming Tea from Petale Tea:
This range of artisan blooming tea balls is included in their exclusive National Day gift set ($65), which includes their limited-edition “My Fair Lady” tea ball accompanied with four of their other best-selling tea flavours. They are not only exquisite in taste but are also a sight to behold as well! Blending organic Maofeng Green Tea infused with a range of dried flora, these teas are good for health. The pair of tea glasses in the gift set helped showcase the tea balls and we love seeing them ‘blossom’ right before our eyes!
For our meal, we tried the Tuscan Sun and Vanilla Fields, both teas had a subtle yet distinctive taste of their own – it was both refreshing and soothing, perfect to pair a good Asian meal.

SG55 Platter from Kueh Ho Jiak:
We are not new to Kueh Ho Jiak’s Kuehs. They are made fresh daily with a tender texture and flavourful taste – just like how our grandparents used to make them. We were absolutely delighted that Party Diva.Co included them in their National Day offerings.
In the spirit of giving traditions a modern spin, Kueh Ho Jiak is offering a celebratory platter of handmade Merlion Ang Ku Kuehs ($37.50) and Heart Kueh Lapis to symbolise longevity and wealth. In our home, these Kuehs were gone in seconds.
