Gleeful Faces and a ‘Conspiracy’

I’ve heard and read so much about this hairdryer and now it’s been presented to me! Along with 3 gleeful faces, one of which was the ‘conspirator’ – the hubby no less, who had secretly planned this as an early Mother’s Day and Birthday present for me, and kept it hidden in the house with the kids’ help.

Look and Feel:

At first glance, the Dyson Supersonic exudes a sleek and stylish look.  Gone is the bulky head of typical hairdryers. Instead of an air vent and motor, is a see-through hole! No visible motor! The motor is neatly tucked into the handle of the unit, making it extremely ergonomic and incredibly easy to hold while drying my hair.  Buttons and controls are kept to a minimum (4 only). 

The unit I have comes in classy Fushia Nickel . What surprises me is that despite its metallic look, the surface has a nice matt texture.  This greatly enhances the grip and hold.  Changing the accessories is a breeze. Accessories are attached to the Dyson Supersonic via a magnet. So they can be quickly (and quietly) switched with ease. Sweet!

Using the Dyson Supersonic, the time taken to dry my hair has been halved! Halving the hair-drying time is a BIG deal as it means my hair gets half the exposure to heat and damage.

Given the Dyson Supersonic’s 3 airflow settings and 4 heat level options, drying my hair has become an enjoyable experience (I used to dread blow drying my hair)! Unlike the typical hairdryers where the heat level and airflow strength are all combined into one control, now I have the option of:

a) Maximum Heat and Maximum Airflow – For a quick dry or to dry the thicker areas of the hair

b) Strong Heat and Weaker Airflow – For control over styling on the go

c) Minimal Heat and Stronger Air Flow – To style and dry the finer hair tip ends to prevent splitting and fraying

An added advantage I didn’t quite anticipate is this. The Dyson Supersonic comes with a complete set of hair styling accessories which I can share with my ‘tweenage’ daughter. So yay to more Mommy-Daughter bonding time over hair care and styling.
