Strollers these days have gotten so huge, so heavy and so expensive. There are a gazillion stroller options in the market that it’s hard to make a choice. For many parents, what they really want in a stroller is preferably one that is light-weight, is easy to fold and can maneuver well in our tight, urbanized city. Now, you would think that all these features wouldn’t be that hard to find in one stroller. And you would be wrong.
We had the chance to review the award winning Baby Jogger City Mini stroller and found it to be one of the most versatile strollers in the market. Weighing at only 7.5kgs, it’s almost unbelievable that it can still be so sturdy and comfy. Its patented Quick-Fold Technology allows parents to fold the stroller with one hand, making it an ideal companion for running errands in the neighbourhood or solo day out with the baby. A simple lift of a strap folds the stroller down into a compact size, great for families who are often on the move. The folded stroller can then fit into tight spaces such as in the trunk of a car, leaving ample space for groceries and luggage etc.
We also like the full recline of the Baby Jogger City Mini stroller which provides optimum comfort for any sleeping child. We can fix the seat to any recline angle, rather than traditional strollers where we only get to choose from a couple of positions. Its generous sun canopy (with two peekaboo windows) provides great shade from the sun no matter which angle the seat is positioned. This meant the baby can get un-interrupted naps wherever we are, anytime of the day. The oversized canopy is adjustable; you can have it closed, 1/3 open, 2/3 open, or open all the way, and two of the sections have windows so we can keep on eye on him. The back of the stroller reveals a large mesh window which provides natural ventilation for the child.
We can’t help but notice the Baby Jogger City Mini stroller maneuvers really easily and gives a very smooth ride. This is attributed to its 8″ EVA foam wheels with sealed ball bearings and the quick-release wheels with front wheel suspension. The stroller’s rear brakes come with a one-foot locking swivel for added safety. With Singapore’s humid weather, the ergonomic rounded handlebar’s wipe clean grip can be easily cleaned of sweat and not leave any peeling with daily usage.
The Baby Jogger City Mini stroller is easily steered and maneuvered with one hand. This is especially useful if we have to juggle an older kid (or groceries) while pushing the baby in the stroller. It includes a universal accessory mounting bracket for infant car seat adapters, snack trays, and other accessories, plus a spacious under-seat basket, an adjustable five-point safety harness with shoulder pads and a buckle cover, and an easy rear parking brake.
With so many thoughtful features built into this compact, practical stroller, no wonder it is such a popular stroller for so many families alike in America, Europe and Asia! Do watch this Mum’s video which sums up everything wonderful about the Baby Jogger City Mini!
