2. Visit the RSAF50 Pavilion
In conjunction with the Singapore Airshow, The Republic of Singapore Airforce launched its 50th Anniversary commemoration with a large display pavilion packed with highly informative and family-friendly exhibits and features.
Among them, families must not miss:
– Flight Simulator experience: There’s more than one flight simulator. Make a beeline for them where you get as close as you can to feeling like an F15SG or F16C pilot.
– Play dress-up: Complete your kids’ flight experience by dressing-up as a RSAF officer and pilot. Take a shot in either a jet fighter or a combat helicopter!
– Learn about RSAF history: Though young, the RSAF has a rich history. In fact it is the largest display of the RSAF’s history to date. Learn about how our small vulnerable nation built its airforce to a high-tech formidable force it is today! See some rare memorabilia from the yesteryears to some models of high-tech weaponry used by the RSAF today to defend Singapore’s skies.
– See the RSAF50 F15SG: It ‘appears’ once every 50 years! See the RSAF50 F15SG painted in its 50th anniversary livery up-close and personal! Take some unique commemorative photos with it.
– Win a RSAF50 patch or limited edition Lego set: Limited edition patch and Lego set is available from the Social Media booth. Simply hash tag your photos with #RSAF50 to stand a chance to win!
– Go onboard an actual combat aircraft: From the C130 Hercules to the Apache helicopter, from the large Chinook to the agile F16C, here’s your chance to step inside and capture that unique memory INSIDE one of these combat aircraft! Don’t miss it!
– Get to know: These aircrafts are mostly manned by the personnel that flies and use it. Get up-close to interact with the pilots and aircrew and find out a bit more about their lives as an airforce officer while being IN an actual combat aircraft!
– Be part of the #RSAF50 mural: Take a selfie and hash tag #RSAF50 for your photos to be featured in the RSAF50 mural alongside the President. What a rare treat!
