“A bookstore is one of the many pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking.”
― Jerry Seinfeld
For a family of bookworms, we were ecstatic to receive the invitation to tour the newly launched Times Bookstores new concept store at Marina Square. Walking into this brightly-lit, spacious 2,800 square feet store, one is immediately welcomed by the cheerful trademark orange decor, complemented by warm brown hues of wood furnishings. The store exudes such an inviting feel that makes it such a delight to browse the books and paraphernalia it has to offer. The wide aisles are extra bonus for families with young kids (especially those on strollers).
In today’s world of technological advances where e-books are the rage, Times Bookstores want to reinforce the the value of tactile book reading and to emphasize the importance and relevance of experiential learning. Therefore this new store takes on a renewed focus on families and children, with approximately 30% of the store dedicated to children’s books and merchandise to cater to the reading and lifestyle needs of children and the whole family. The kids loved the kids section painted in playful shades of pastel and colourful clouds adorning the ceiling. Back by the strong belief that learning is fun, Times Bookstores also carry a wide selection of educational toys and games that promote creativity and family bonding.
Besides an extensive range of books catering to readers of all ages and interests (including lifestyle and non-fiction books), Times Bookstores at Marina Square also carry premium choices of writing accessories and instruments and a very pretty range of gift items that cater to the lifestyle needs of discerning consumers, kids or adults alike.
We had the privilege of meeting Ms Helen Lek, Head of Retail for Times Publishing Group at the media tour:
We are dedicated in catering to the evolving needs of families and children by providing them with an inspiring and conducive environment suited for learning and discovery. We also want to engage and encourage them to explore the wonderful world of books in a holistic and positive manner”.
And Ms Anna Leong, Marketing Manager also let us in on a piece of exciting news:
Times Marina Square will be opening our biggest store at Waterway Point in Punggol come January 2016. Spanning over 7,300 square feet (2.5 times bigger than the Marina Sqaure Store), it will offer a whole new book-shopping retail experience with a dedicated children’s corner for book and craft events.
To celebrate the official opening of the Times Bookstores at Marina Square, here’s a special promotion for everyone! The perfect one-shop bookstore for your early Christmas shopping!
