Dana has been learning piano for close to a year now and becoming more proficient in sight reading. It gives us immense delight to hear her tinkle away at the piano whenever we’re home. During one of the regular evening piano practices last week, Daddy and Dana decided to bless me with this beautiful duet. For Daddy, the day has arrived much faster than he had expected – being able to duet with his precious princess. I believe his heart must have swelled twice its capacity that night…I am overwhelmed with gratitude each time they play and I pray they will never stop making music together as Daddy and Daughter.
May we present to you the very first installment of DDD – Daddy Dana Duet. Enjoy the melodious rendition this mid-week!

Awesome! Go Dana (and Daddy)!
Sean is going to start at MYC soon too (after hearing the good reviews from you and Vera). And I am now looking around for a piano/ keyboard. What brand/model is your keyboard? Would you recommend it for a beginner?

Hi Debra, thanks for visiting our blog! Our keyboard is a Yamaha P70 – an 8 y/o electronic piano. This model has already been substituted by a newer models (not sure what it is now but it’s around $1k+). It’s great for beginners (especially young kids) because while the keys are weighted (heavy), they are not as heavy as a real piano yet it produces close to the authentic sound. Because it is an electronic piano, it is also easy to move around :if you’re relocating in short to mid-term, more durable: kids are kids…so when they bump or scratch, it’s less ‘painful on our pockets. If you are very certain that your child will love the piano, then it may be worthwhile to invest in an actual piano. In which case, I would recommend either a Kawai or a Yamaha. A new mid range model will set you back by around $5k. Hope it helps.
David 🙂
