How was the experience?
Literally seeing these wonderful animals and creatures presented in a different light makes the whole experience worthwhile. It was fun and educational! It presents the animals and creatures in a fun and interesting way, which everyone, regardless of age, can appreciate. More importantly, it spreads the message of animal conservation to families and children. Here’s sharing our experience during the media preview:
Go beyond books and screen, let these animals come alive before your very own eyes with these programs:
Monster Boo!: 7pm, 8pm, 9pm @ Area 51
Safari Boo is under attack! See how a group of fun-loving animal monsters go all out to ‘battle’ the evil Professor V to restore peace and fun to Safari Boo! Lots of laughter here as we get to see the animals up close in their bid to save their home.
Mermaid Mania: 7:45pm, 8:45pm, 9:45pm @ Merryland Mania
This is a must-see! Come and be dazzled by our very own mythical mermaids! They literally mesmerized the children with their agility and flexibility as they swam effortlessly through the waters of the Flooded Amazon. Here’s a tip, during the mermaid show, you may want to go ‘backstage’ to the top of the Flooded Amazon tank to see the ‘mermaids’ surface and dive down. Don’t forget to say ‘Hi’!
Whimsical Encounters: 7:20pm, 8:20pm and 9:20pm @ Area 51
Come and shake the fins and paws of the ‘twins’ of some of our resident animals – the Pandas, The Red Pandas and the Manatees. Get ready for some unique photo opportunities!
Party Central: 6-10pm @ Party Central
Come on down to Party Central with your family and friends! Let your hair down, raise your paws and join in the non-stop fun and games that are specially brought to you by the partners of River Safari. While there, take some wacky family photos, join in the carnival games and yes, bounce to your heart’s content on the trampoline!
Your Trick, My Treat : 6-10pm, around the park.
Solve the tricks to get a treat! With the whole family. Go around the entire park looking for colourful and interesting characters for that treat and trick with your family and friends that are related to the fun and wonderful facts about Safari Boo!
Alien Inc: 6-10pm @ Alien Starship
This program is so unique and intriguing! It teaches everyone why certain animals should be ‘aliens’ in our homes. Simply because they don’t belong in our homes! The staff presented these very clearly and were very patient to answer questions as children and families learn why our homes are only for certain animals and why not every animal can be a pet.
Alien Funshop: 6 – 10pm @ Alien Starship
Here’s a wonderful program where family and friends get ‘crafty’ and hands-on together to turn ‘monsters’ into cuddly toys while changing ‘aliens’ into fashion accessories to bring home.
Boo-licious Treats! :6-10pm @ River Safari Shop, Tea House and Mama Panda Kitchen
During the evening, enjoy some monster-themed goodies at the eateries here with your family and friends. Better still, you can walk away with a free plush toy when you spend a minimum of $30! This is no trick!
Boo-tiful Family Pageant: 9pm, Area 51 – During Monster Boo
This is so fun! Imagine siblings, friends, better still, the whole family dressed up and walking down the runway , all looking ‘boo-tiful’! Participants get a chance to win prizes up to $150. But it’s not just the prize, it’s the unique ‘instagramable’ opportunity to capture some really unique memories and photos with families and friends. Register at the entrance for the pageant before entering the park.
Tips to Survive Safari Boo!
1)Is there a long queue for activities? Some of these activities require some queuing. E.g. Art and Craft session at Alien Funshop and the Face Painting at Monster Boo. You may want to go early to avoid the long wait.
2) Is it sheltered? It’s held in the River Safari premise which is largely sheltered except for the distance between the open air car park and the park itself.
3) Do I need mosquito repellent? It’s in the outdoors at the River Safari, if you are prone to mozzie bites, you may want to slap on some insect repellent.
4) Is it scary? Especially for young kids? From our experience the programs are not however some younger kids may not be used to seeing mascots etc…so you’d need to prep them.
5) What else do I need to bring? Well, it’s in an largely outdoor area where it can still be humid (though not hot) so best to bring along your own drinking water and be dressed in light and comfy attire.
The greatest ‘fear factor’: Hurry and book your tickets! The greatest ‘fear’ is that the tickets are sold out!
