Space – More than Physical Separation:
WFH (Work from Home) and HBL (Home-based Learning) have proven to be trying for our family particularly with everyone’s unique demands of personal space for work, e-learning and recreation all within the confines of an apartment.
We’ve learnt that while it may be easier to separate physically (i.e. finding our own little corners in the apartment), separating sound space is more challenging. Sound permeates and intrudes into our personal space (think 1 kid practising the piano while the other kid watching Paw Patrol while we are in the midst of a Zoom conferencing) This often leaves us frustrated and furious that our much-needed private space is deprived.
Perhaps the one that understands the need for proper ‘sound space’ is none other than our 12 year old ‘tweenager’.
While Mommy and Daddy can head out occasionally to run errands, she is often locked-in at home with her lively, hyperactive younger brother. We’ve come to recognise that she needs her own personal space more than anyone else. On top of a conducive space for her home-based learning, she needs the space to indulge in her own recreation (Yoga, Just Dance etc.) and to simply chill-out on the lounge to listen to her fave pop tunes.

Acoustics: The music and voice coming from the earphones are crisp and crystal clear. I thought that by putting the earphones INTO my ear, the volume would be much louder but no! They were surprisingly soothing.
Adjustable: I used to hate wearing earphones because after a while, it gets really hot and uncomfortable. The Sudio has a range of ‘shells’ that fits any ear. I switched mine to a set that fits me nice and snug. With the Sudio ETT, I move around freely without messing with wires. My favourite is the Active Noise Cancellation feature! A very useful feature when you are working from home. My desktop computer is in the living room as I am sharing it with my other siblings, so I could hardly eliminate unwanted noises while working.
