With the prospect of overseas travel still up in the air (pun not intended), here are some interesting local adventures which you can involve the whole family and kids

1. Walking trails, with a twist.

These are not ordinary walking trail. Some involve a fictional character while others take you back in time or take you on a paranormal experience. There’s one that comes with beer for mummy and daddy.  Have a look!

Considered a Theatrical Tour, follow Auntie Aminah through Kampung Glam and learn about it’s interesting history.  The walking tour comes with many interesting nuggets of history and opportunities for interesting memories and IG-friendly photo spots.  Suitable for young kids and all in the family.

Time-travel back to an actual kampong in Singapore where chickens roam free and there are still electrical cables and phone lines overhead.  If you’re lucky you could very well meet the owner herself, Mdm. Sng who is ever ready to tell you stories of old.

Take a walk back to Singapore during WW2, at night.  Relive some of the significant historical parts of Singapore and take in thhe paranormal aspects of these sites. 3. Get Active as a Family

Children learn through role-modelling and what better way to get your kids into a healthy lifestyle than through getting active together. Use the holiday season to expose, excite and experience an active lifestyle with the kids.

Here are some of the top activities we love and recommend for the family,.

Take a night cycling ride and see the stunning night scenes around the Marina Bay area with a guide.  No need to worry about which route to take or which is safer, in fact don’t even have to worry about having a bike and gears.  As long as you can cycle well, let the guides from Let Go Bike Singapore take you around and take in the sights safely.  Suitable for teens and above who is competent in cycling.

Also no bikes needed as long as you’re a confident cyclist, let Tony and his team bring you to and from Ubin safely with a cycling tour of some key places in Singapore’s rustic island. Suitable for confident cyclists.  Be prepared to cycle off-road.

Kayak on open waters to Pulau Ubin, Pulau Ketam and through the mangrove swamps in Pulau Ubin and back. This is an unforgettable kayaking trip even for beginners.  Suitable for older children (preteens) and up along with parents.

Guide, safety vests and a quick orientation lesson will be given along with a ‘bush’ lunch cooked outdoors.

The Skyline Luge remains one of our top favourite activities as a family.  Kids as young as 4 can take experience the Luge with the family.  Luge rides are safe and they come with the skyline experience that lets you take in the breathtaking sights of Sentosa island from high above the canopy.

Buddy learned a bit of kayaking with the Hubs. It was safe, fun and a great way to expose kids to sports and games to discover their talents and interests. It’s inexpensive and taught by professional coaches.

4. All Weather Indoor Fun

Very few places in Singapore can boast of all-weather comprehensive fun for all in the family like SuperPark Singapore.

Recently opened, the park is situated in Suntec City and has demarcated generous spaces of fun and adventure for all in the family ranging from toddlers to adults.
