At 13 months, our lil Princess is capable of doing the following:
• Toddles well
• Stands, squats and walks alone without need of support
• Pushes and pulls toys while walking
• Drinks from a straw cup and able to finger feed
• Turns the pages of a book and enjoys reading board books on her own
• Loves to play “peekaboo”
• Responds to directions (e.g. “Sit down”)
• Dances to music
• Kicks ball forward
• Tries to lift heavy things
• Likes riding toys
• Points to objects or body parts when asked
• Empties containers of contents and bends over and picks up an object
• Loves to imitate others
• Combines words and gestures to make needs known
• Signs common words skillfully (e.g.”milk”, “hello”, “bye” & “thank-you”)
• Has vocabulary of more than ten words (shoe, bus, cars, birds, school, teacher, auntie, uncle, book, cycle, porrridge, water, sleep etc)
• Wants to “help” around the house (e.g. wiping tables)
• Throws temper tantrums when frustrated
• Shows signs of beginning toilet training readiness (nods or shakes her head correctly when asked if she pooed)
