Mentioned Duplo and many parents would immediate associate it as the 'baby brother' of LEGO and they're right! Launched in 1969, Duplo is designed for children aged 1½ to 5 years old. They’re perfect for little hands that can’t quite manipulate the small Lego bricks and since Duplo bricks are twice the size of LEGO bricks, they are less likely to be swallowed by younger children. Thanks to the kind folks at Nuffnang, Dana spent a most delightful afternoon playing with Duplo bricks at the … [Read more...]

Excitement Quotient at Adventure Cove Waterpark, Sentosa!
Early November, my family and I were invited to the exclusive members' preview of Sentosa's newest attraction - the Adventure Cove Waterpark. Honestly, I had my reservations about the Marine Life Park, mainly due to the controversy surrounding its procurement of rare marine life for captivity. Besides, we’ve been to other excellent water-themed parks in Australia with giant water slides, man made geysers, gigantic decorative starfishes and … [Read more...]

Foodie Friday: Strawberry Rhubarb Tart!
I met up with an old friend for lunch yesterday at The University Club and we ended the lovely meal with this delicious dessert - Strawberry Rhubarb Tart. Rhubarbs are not so commonly available in Singapore but I have seen them at Cold Storage, NTUC Finest and some green grocers. I remembered tasting Rhubarb jam during our travels in the U.K and loved it.The combination of strawberry and rhubarb is a classic for good reason: the sweet, juicy strawberries are perfectly balanced by the tart … [Read more...]
A Mother’s Thanksgiving Prayer
It's Thanksgiving today and though we do not celebrate it here in Singapore, I'll like to share this annointed prayer which resonates so deeply with my restless heart. As I reflect on my role as a mother and wife, I've fallen short in so many ways...I'm horrified at my own inadequacies; my intolerance and my quick temper. This Thanksgiving, I come before God with a humble heart, asking Him to forgive me, to empower me to be a better Mom to the beautiful daughter He has … [Read more...]

Count down to Christmas with DIY Advent Ornaments!
It was pouring cats and dogs yesterday evening. Daddy had a report to complete; Mommy had to edit the photos taken at LEGOLAND so Dana enjoyed a special movie treat, watching a Charlie and Lola DVD which we had loaned from the National Library. After an episode on 'How Many More Minutes Until Christmas', she came and requested if we can make an Advent Calendar together.
