The beautiful SPGG club house |
The March school holidays has just begun and with that, you can imagine most of the kid-friendly attractions in Singapore would be crowded with children and families. Think long snaking queues, and the unexpected hot and hazy weather may just make visits to these supposedly family-friendly places less enjoyable.
The Singapore Poly Graduates’ Guildhouse (SPGG) is offering a free one-week trial membership for the public and they are doing it in style: carnival style!
Go West and Saddle Up! |
Make your way down to SPGG at Dover Road (near Singapore Poly Gate 4), sign up for a one-week free trial membership this weekend and you and your family will get to enjoy the Wild Wild West Carnival for FREE! From shooting hoops, throwing loops to catching flying vouchers, the friendly staff at SPGG is out to make sure that all visitors have a good time sans the holiday crowd. We visited the carnival today since we live a stone’s throw away and spent a delightful afternoon there.

Being ever inquisitive and adventurous, Dana’s favourite activities at the carnival were the Lego Mindstorm Robotic Booth and the Pony Ride. At the Lego Mindstorm Booth, children will get to manipulate some impressive, ready-made robots (made entirely out of Lego bricks!). If they are truly keen in robotics, they can sign up for a class conducted at SPGG for a small fee. The other highlight of the day is the appearance of live ponies from the Singapore Saddle Club. Children (below 20kg) were allowed to take photos and ride on the ponies. All activities are redeemable using the ‘gold bar’ carnival coupons given to visitors FREE upon registration for the one week trial membership. Photographs taken at the Pony station are then printed and made into small keychains for the children to bring home as souvenirs! That was a pleasant surprise.

The best things is, once you’ve signed-up as a trial member, you can return to SPGG anytime to enjoy all the facilities (such as the bowling alley, gymnasium, tennis courts etc) there – crowd free this March school holidays! The timing couldn’t be better.

What a fun way to start the March school holidays! |
The Wild Wild West Carnival runs through this weekend. Make sure you make a stop at SPGG tomorrow to enjoy some leisurely carnival fun with your family.
