The eight stories were narrated by our favourite fairy, Tinkerbell. The special appearances by Mickey and Minnie and Goofy kept the kids excitedly rooted to their seats throughout the 2 hour show (except during the 15 min interval).
The show started with Aladdin, where skaters executed impressive tumbles, jumps and falls which looked impossible on skates. The mood instantly lightened up with the appearance of the Genie. Princess Jasmine’s dance with Aladdin was spectacular. A great opening act!
Next up is Snow White, where the seven dwarves tumbled onto stage in cheerful costumes, celebrating her rescue by Prince Charming. Judging by the many mini Snow-Whites in the audience, she is easily Disney’s most popular Princess!
Next, Belle and Lumière danced to a joyful ‘Be Our Guest’ which got the children clapping along. It was a pity that Beast wasn’t featured.
Having been to several Disney on Ice performance in past years, I can truly say that this production was the one we enjoyed the most. It’s full of energy, very well put together and delivers wholesome entertainment for the family. The three tier backdrop was effectively used to enhance the plot; the amazing choreography, stunning costumes and clever use of lighting and special effects (like bubbles and flashy pyrotechnics) transported us into far flung fairy-tale lands, keeping us transfixed from beginning to end. When asked if they enjoyed the show, Dana and her buddies unaimously replied, ‘Love it!’ Two thumbs up for this spectacular production!
An added bonus this evening was we witnessed a heartwarming marriage proposal during the interval! How romantic is that? The audience all erupted into joyous applause when she said YES. She must truly feel like a Princess and him a Hero!
As ever, a little touch of Disney magic really can, make dreams come true.
Disney on Ice presents Princesses & Heroes is on until 17th March 2013 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Visit Sistic to get your tickets today!
