Advertorial: Pure COMFORT for the Family…
One way of showing love for the family is to ensure the clothes they wear are smartly pressed and freshly laundered. I am a firm believer and frequent user of fabric softeners since I became a Mom because nothing feels more irritable than prickly, stiff fabrics brushing against our skin. In our household, we change clothes and towels ever so frequently that it's common to see tees, shirts, shorts, uniforms stained with perspiration (especially from those cycling sessions and playground visits) … [Read more...]
Adventures of Learning to Ride A Bike (Part 2) – Ride Baby Ride!
I love cycling. Many of my childhood memories were centred around cycling. I remembered the only bicycle I had as a child was a ‘Girl’s Bike' - the ones without a center shaft, no gears, just 2 trusty brakes, a wire basket in front to act as a bumper and a 'dynamo' (of which kids these days would associate it with the washing detergent) to power the light…my bike was metallic blue and white in colour. I cycled for many reasons: to school, to tuition classes, to impress … [Read more...]
Adventures of Learning to Ride a Bike (Part 1) – An Interview with Sg Bike School
The skies had been overcast all weekend, thwarting Daddy's plans to bring Dana cycling...The gears were all packed in the boot, ready for action...When the rain finally cleared yesterday evening, we made a dash to the park.Sunset@Labrador Park - 26 May 2013We cannot imagine that just weeks ago, Dana was struggling to transit from her training bike and her self-esteem was at an all-time low. She kept telling us that she couldn't do it as she could sense our impatience and disappointment … [Read more...]
Rekindling the love of Art @ HeART Studio!
I woke up bright and early today with a sense of anticipation...it is the day of our Adult Canvas Art Class sponsored by HeART Studio as part of the SMB's 1st Anniversary Celebration. Having last dabbled in Art eons ago (when I was a Secondary 4 student), I was thankful for the opportunity to rekindle my love for painting. When I first told the hubs that I would be at HeART Studio on Sunday, his first reaction was, 'Oh, you signed the daughter up for a class?" I smiled, "No...I signed … [Read more...]

Saturday Morning Snapshot: On our Playlist…
I love Saturday mornings where Daddy is around. Like clockwork, we tumbled out of the house slightly before 9am to send Dana to her Chinese Enrichment Class at Ulu Pandan Cc. It's become instinctive for Dana to request for songs to be played the minute she steps into the car. Some days, it'll be soundtracks from Broadway Disney Musicals such as Annie, Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King (which Dana can sing every word by memory)...others days, it'll be relaxing instrumental … [Read more...]
All Day Dimsum in KL!
During our short getaway to Kuala Lumpur last week, my MIL led us to this nice restaurant in the back lanes near the hotel where we stayed which serves delectable Hong Kong Dim Sum. Prices are reasonable, service brisk and environment clean and bright. We are delighted to have discovered this gem as we weren't fond of all the fast food joints that abound in these shopping areas. Here are some dishes we ordered:A fav of ours - Steamed Cheong Fun with Prawns - so smooth and soft it melts in your … [Read more...]
Philips PerfectCare PSG Iron – The Perfect Iron for Busy Moms!
One Perfect Setting for all your clothes - so perfect, even men & kids can iron! When I first laid eyes on the new Philips PerfectCare Pressurized Steam Generator (PSG) Iron, I thought I had inherited a 'beast'. At first glance, it is huge, much bigger than a standard steam iron, but on closer inspection, it looks big because it comes in 2 parts: the iron itself and the the 1.5L detachable 'water-tank' base unit, which allows us up to 2 hours of uninterrupted ironing without refilling. The … [Read more...]
Random Notes at the Hotel…
Daddy posted on his FB the day we left, "a short getaway is still a getaway...". How apt. We thank God that in the midst of crazy busy May, our family was able to book a flight and escape to nearby KL for the family wedding. We were also grateful that through our brother-in-law's help, we were able to put up at a swanky 5-star hotel which eased my frazzled nerves of having to take care of a sick child on our travels. Getting inspiration from the Twin TowerOne evening, as we were … [Read more...]
