We threw a ‘Frozen’ theme birthday celebration for Dana, a one last big bash for her before she enters Primary One in 2015. I started planning for it rather late but managed to design the invite on my own and put together a decent programme. This year for a change, Dana was tasked to draft her own guest list. Not surprisingly, she invited her classmates and a few close friends. Her birthday wish to be dressed as Princess Elsa (in ‘Frozen’) was granted when our dear neighbour turned BFF, Meredith agreed to loan her the beautiful dress which they bought from Walt Disney World, Orlando.

To pull off a ‘Frozen’ themed party, I just had to have a dessert table. I put together a Pinterest board of Frozen inspired desserts and left it to the creative hands behind Little House of Dreams to execute it. Truthfully speaking, the micro-manager me was really anxious to see how it might turn out. I went to the party with much prayer (“Lord, please let it be good…”) and the moment I laid eyes on the set up, I was blown away.
They designed the backdrop using the invitation card as an inspiration and laid out a full table of delectable treats which wowed the birthday girl and all our guests. The dessert menu includes macarons, meringue kisses, push pop cakes, choc moose, petite cupcakes and blueberry cheesecake shooters. I brought homemade frozen-inspired jelly cups and ordered the main Frozen-themed 2-tier birthday cake (in orange choc butter flavor) and snowflakes cookies from a talented home baker to supplement the spread.

I loved how everything came together nicely in various shades of white and blue. We also transformed the function room into a magical winter wonderland with free floating white pearl helium balloons, each tied to sliver foil stars which every kid gets to bring home at the end of the party. The biggest challenge of the party for me was to put together a goodie bag that is useful and approved by parents. After much research, I included these: a Frozen Read-Along Storybook with accompanying CD (which they can listen on car rides or before bedtime), a Frozen-themed Luggage Tag (personalised with every individual child guest’s name), organic snacks from Marks and Spencers and a bottle of ‘melted Olaf’. Looking at all the happy faces captured at the party (especially Dana’s), we knew it was all worthwhile. Stay tuned as we bring you snippets of other cool party activities which took place at Dana’s Disney Frozen Party!

What a lovely party, fit for a princess indeed! I love the little touches, such as the figurines from Frozen, hidden among the desserts. Blessed sixth birthday, princess Dana. 🙂

Dana really look like princess elsa in that dress!
I didn’t know that we can rent a room in hort park! That’s such a good idea! I will keep that in mind!

Thank you Aunties Adeline, Mama J, Intheweehours and Cen-Ling for your birthday wishes and compliments on the party. Little House of Dreams did a great job, all credit goes to them and my fabulous home baker friend. That dress is sold out worldwide, thankfully my neighbour was generous enough to loan it to Dana, so glory to Jesus!
Yes Hort Park has few function rooms for rent but they have very strict rules and require your caterers to clear off the party trash after your event. So if you intend to book their rooms, make sure your caterer agrees to do this…I had to call a few before I found one!

Hi Angie,
Are you able to find out from your neighbour where she got the dress from?
My daughter is crazily looking for one, but those in the market we saw aren’t look original with long train dragging behind the princess.
Angie. S says
Hi there Diana thanks for the compliments! Little House of Dreams customised the dessert table and backdrop for us based on our requests. Do drop them an email at [email protected] 🙂

Hi Charm
welcome to our blog! Our neighbour bought the dress from Disney World, Orlando during their family vacation last Dec. If you don’t mind, you can rent the costume from this shop: https://www.facebook.com/likeMiniMe. One of my gfs recently bought one set for her daughter from this online store too. You may want to check it out: http://4littleboyz.blogspot.sg/ Hope that helps! 😀
