“What? We’re here already?” I quipped, after hardly warming-up my seat in the hotel’s transport from the airport. In less than 20 minutes, we went from the stresses of clearing immigration, collecting our baggage, negotiating the human traffic to arriving at the foyer of our 5-star luxury resort in Bangkok, in air-conditioned comfort, being greeted by warm, friendly faces – something that always draw us back to this Land of Smiles. Looks like our well-deserved holiday is off to a good start! … [Read more...]

The future…in Codes with Tink Tank SG
Look around you. It’s everywhere. It determines how we live, how we communicate, how we function. It has changed our lives. Our Prime Minister has it, Bill Gates has it, Mark Zukerberg has it and a whole list of iconic people have learnt it, used it and virtually changed the world with it. Best of all, we - you, me and our kids, can all learn it, master it and change the world with it. It’s like learning an instrument, a new language, a new skill. Once you master it, the world is truly … [Read more...]
Black Friday Shopping with MyUS
I'm sure many Mommies would agree with me that one of the greatest perks of the evolution of the Internet is online shopping. I love shopping online for my kids' clothes as they tend to be cheaper than local retail prices and the ranger is wider/nicer. When Dana was younger, I shopped weekly from my favourite U.S. online brands like GAP, Ralph Lauren, Old Navy, Carters and Gymboree. I've also bought adult Winter Jackets from Timberland few years … [Read more...]

Paddle Pop – The Healthier Ice-Cream Treat
There is a mobile ice-cream seller who stations himself daily outside our daughter's school. Every afternoon after dismissal, throngs of school children in uniform would queue patiently at this ice-cream uncle's stall to buy an ice-cream to savour on their way home. Among the kids' favourites and the first to be sold out would always be Paddle Pop ice-cream. Why is Paddlepop so popular among children? According to Dana: It's tasty. It's colourful. There are many choices of Paddle … [Read more...]
Exercise Torrent 2016 – Lessons For Our Children
It’s not a Dream On the surface, it’s looks like a scene from a childhood dream – formidable F16s and F15s taxing down the runway before roaring off into the skies. Their afterburners glowing, plumes of dust and debris lifted from the wake of the awesome thrust of the jets. And us, with eyes and mouth gaped in awe at this rare sight. Except this is not dream, and this is no ordinary runway. This is an ordinary road, Lim Chu Kang Road to be precise, converted into a short runway for the … [Read more...]

Safari Zoo Run 2017: Run for Wildlife
We are no stranger to the Safari Zoo Run, having participated in it for 2 consecutive years in 2015 and 2016. It has become our family's favourite run. An annual event where we get into our sporting gears and run together as a family of 4. Here are some photos and a video clip from this year's run. The air was crisp, mood awesome and bonding among families? Priceless. Photos Credit: Safari Zoo Run Facebook Page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6olpHpUiVRk The Safari Zoo … [Read more...]
Bangkok Safari World – A Drive on the Wild Side!
We visited Bangkok during the National Day long weekend in August. Because we were travelling with kids, we deliberately incorporated some kid-friendly activities into our Free & Easy itinerary. Our favourite was the visit to the Husky Cafe followed by the Airplane Graveyard. The Bangkok Safari World ranked third. The website provided scanty information so I turned to my friends' blogs, A Million Little Echoes, My Lilbookworm and Growing with The Tans before I finally decided we … [Read more...]
Charlotte’s Web by SRT – A Review
We watched Charlotte’s Web produced by the Singapore Repertory Theatre's The Little Company this morning and I left the theatre feeling all fuzzy within. The good kind of fuzzy. Even though we had read the book and knew the plot well, watching the friendship of Wilbur the pig and Charlotte the spider being played out LIVE on stage really drove home the story themes so brilliantly. A Synopsis of the Play: Photo Credit: SRT Facebook The moment we stepped into the KC Arts Theatre at Robertson … [Read more...]
