Festival Survival Tips:
- Plan and get there early – from previous years’ experience, there would be a large crowd. You’d want to use the Festival Planner to plan and get there early to enjoy the full breadth of experience!
- Dress comfortably with good walking shoes – the festival is largely outdoors. To enjoy it in hot and humid Singapore, best to dress appropriately. Bring along a brolly in the event there’s a drizzle.
- Bring along drinking water – This is in reference to our hot and humid weather.
- Sample the food and fair – There’s an eclectic mix of good food and fine performances at the Festival Village, get there early to soak in the atmosphere there.
- Suitable for children? YES and No. Due to the large crowd and the need to be crossing busy roads, children may need to be closely supervised and strollers may be inconvenient. If you need to bring young kids or babies, use a baby carrier if need to.
- Bring your camera! It’s a great opportunity to take memorable family photos and videos. Go ahead! Snap away!
Thank you for sharing! I never knew there was so much programme and activities lined up. I always thought there was only the light display at the National Museum! Considering bringing my 3 year old there!
Yes…we had that misconception years ago…but ever since we experienced it three years ago, it has become a yearly affair for us and a great way to capture unique memories because no installation is the same each year. Hope you can experience it!
Oh wow! It starts tonight. There are so many cool activities, it’s hard to make up my mind which one to go to. Perhaps one night with the kiddos and make another night as date night! Thanks for sharing.
No problems! Good things must share! Hope you’re able to experience it!
Wow there seems to be so many more activities coming up on this year’s Night Festival as compared to the past and many of them looks quite appealing. Hopefully I can get some time-off from babysitting the kids and head out with friends to go experience it.. like finally lol
Yes…we just returned from our 2nd visit! There’s just so much to see and experience. Hope you are able to experience it!
OMG! Started already?? I got to know about this festival 2 years back and since then have been faithfully attending 🙂
This year seems to have more things going on ya? So exciting!! Can’t wait to go this weekend! Thanks for sharing 😉
Hi….hope you’re able to catch them this weekend…if not there’s next weekend, which is the last weekend. Have fun!
I really hope I can make it down this year! The crowds put me off EVERY TIME.
Get there early – we would park before 6 and enjoy a leisurely meal there when the festival village opens at 6pm….then take a slow stroll around 7 to soak in the atmosphere. Most attraction starts at 7:30 during Sundown. Check out our Survival tips!
Today only I went to this area and saw all roads closed for the SIngapore night festival. Thanks for sharing the details.
No probs. Hope you’re able to visit.
I am planning to visit this week. Singapore really looks awesome in the night.
Yes it is…do read up on our ‘Survival Tips’ and get there early. From experience, Sat and Sun crowds can be quite large. We would recommend going early (by 5:30), grab a bite at the Festival Village when they open at 6pm then slowly start visiting the sites from 7pm when the evening sky starts…7:30 would be when most attraction begins. Have fun!
Wow! So many interesting & exciting activities..will definitely bring my boy this wkend..tqvm for sharing such a detailed post!!
Such a detailed and informative post!! We’ve been too busy lately and doubt we can make it down. I enjoyed seeing all your photo updates of the event though 🙂 hopefully next year for us..
