I love Saturday mornings where Daddy is around. Like clockwork, we tumbled out of the house slightly before 9am to send Dana to her Chinese Enrichment Class at Ulu Pandan Cc. It’s become instinctive for Dana to request for songs to be played the minute she steps into the car. Some days, it’ll be soundtracks from Broadway Disney Musicals such as Annie, Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King (which Dana can sing every word by memory)…others days, it’ll be relaxing instrumental music to lull her to short slumber or chirpy Sunday School songs to set the mood for a fun roadtrip. This morning, it was one of our family’s favourite Chinese Streams of Praise Kids Worship CDs which Dana was singing with much gusto. How lovely to start the weekend, hearing our little one proclaiming with all her heart that Jesus, I love you.

It is one of our parenting goals to raise Dana up to know and love God from a tender age. And what better ways to grow and affirm her childlike faith than through one of God’s most well-loved invention of all time: Music.
