ACT 3 International, Singapore’s leading Arts company for the young, is proud to launch of a brand new ACT 3i Festival for Children this June school holidays dedicated to children from 2 to 12 years old.
The Festival will be packed with exquisite, high quality and aweinspiring theatre performances that will include original works from Singapore, Italy, Sweden, Argentina, the U.K and Canada, an artfully curated visual arts programme, as well as Conviviality Sessions led by Children’s Theatre artists that are aimed at educators and parents.
Act3i Festival for Children will take place daily from 24 May to 5 June 2016 at the centrally-located Drama Centre. Here are the highlights.

1. All On A Summer’s Day For 7 to 12 year olds

2. The Steadfast Tin Soldier For 4 to 12 year olds

3. Snow White For 4 to 8 year olds

4. Marmalade For 2 to 6 year olds

Marmalade is a mouthwatering, interactive and tactile experience that is uniquely for the very young – children 2 to 6 years. This deliciously tactile performance uses a very unusual style of engagement and is skilfully designed to keep very young children attentive throughout the performance.
5.Haná and Momò For 3 to 8 year olds

6. Awake LOVE Orchestra For 4 years old and up

The Awake LOVE Orchestra is an eclectic band of musicians, hailing from Sweden and the UK, who will stir your soul and fire up your senses with their musical combination of love, melodies, voices and amazing harmonies. Children will get to listen to original and unique music, put together by mixing sounds and songs from different cultures discovered from their travels round the world. So AWAKE Singapore and be inspired!

Sharing-and-learning sessions led by artists and arts practitioners who will share invaluable know-how from their practice, their chosen art form and their creative processes to empower you in your parenting or your practice as an educator. See which session suits your interest and needs!
1. Drama Centre
24 May to 5 June 2016; afternoons on the weekends | 1 hour
Led by the artistes of the productions that will be showcased during ACT 3i Festival for Children, these one-hour workshops are named for their learning and sharing nature. There will be 12 workshops in total – six for parent-and-child; 6 targeted at educators – and all will be held at Drama Centre. The key objective behind these workshops is to use various art forms to encourage creative play between parent and child; while for educators, to incorporate these art forms in teaching. The attendees can look forward to sessions on puppetry, improvisation, movement and rhythm.
2. Sweet For 4 to 8 year olds
ION Art Gallery, ION Orchard
28 May to 5 June 2016; 10.30am to 12.30pm or 3.30pm to 5.30pm
Sweet. is a four-in-one visual arts exhibition based on Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory where children aged 4 to 8 years will watch a storytelling performance, participate in both Drama and Visual Arts workshops and finally, to soothe their tastebuds, learn to make their very own ice cream! Watch, listen, taste, smell, touch AND get sugar overloaded in this sensorial display of desserts galore.
