Dana had an early birthday treat last Maundy Thursday. As it was a school holiday for her, I specially took the day off to bring her to try McDonald’s newest breakfast menu. I know she will be thrilled.
The PlayPlace – a delightful McDonalds at AMK Park! |
When we arrived at Ang Mo Kio Park McDonalds, I was immediately won over by the spacious, airy layout and lush greenery. What a lovely little breakfast place in the midst of AMK Park. I can picture our family coming here to dine more often (despite the distance). It boasts of a rather large indoor playground to keep the kids happy. Dana was excited to see the playground and did what she knows best – PLAY!

When it’s time for the Food Tasting, we were ushered into a large Party Room where we met several other friendly Singapore Bloggers (one of which is a friendly chap named William from TheDeadCrockroach.Blogspot). Many of you would still remember the National Breakfast Day on 18 March where McDonalds gave away more than 100,000 free Egg McMuffins islandwide. To continue their campaign to encourage more Singaporeans to start their day with a healthy meal, they launched two new items to their breakfast menu – Chicken Muffin and Strawberry or Hot Fudge Hotcakes!

Get Up and Go to a McD! |
Eating at McDonalds is the occasional treat for Dana as we would only bring her there for a leisurely family meal whenever she deserves a reward (usually on weekends). So you can imagine her delight when I told her in the taxi ride that we were going for Food Tasting at her favourite McDonalds! First, we were served the Hotcakes with Hot Fudge and Strawberry Sauce. Dana is a huge chocolate fan and the Hot Fudge sauce is right up her alley – thick, velvety chocolate sauce that is oh so delicious. Even I fell in love with it after the first taste. It makes such an excellent alternative for the hotcakes than the usual maple syrup. The strawberry jam comes with real chunky bits of strawberry and tastes slightly tangy. This would be perfect for those who doesn’t like their breakfast to be overly sweet.
I love these Hot Fudge Mommy! |
Next, we tried the Chicken Muffin. Having eaten my fav breakfast Sausage McMuffin with Egg all these years, I am pleasantly surprised to see a Chicken Muffin on the menu. The chicken patty, deep fried with a light crispy batter comes sandwiched between slices of warm melted cheese – making it irresistibly delicious. I think this new addition makes a wonderful breakfast for non-beef eaters like some of our family members and friends!
Look Mom, it’s Chicken, not Beef! |
As part of the Food Tasting, we were presented with a limited edition McDonald’s Food Strap Souvenir Set which Dana can add to her Kitchen Role Play collection. We were also given a Nets Flashpay Card which works like a stored-value card, where diners can use to pay for their McDonalds meals, even for Drive Through orders. Cool!
Cute Souvenirs for the Princess! |
After the yummy breakfast, we joined little Alexis at the nearby AMK sandy playground just 200m away from the restaurant (another unexpectedly good discovery!) for an hour of outdoor play. Being able to enjoy a good breakfast and to meet up with good friends was a great bonus to the week. What a fun-filled morning and an enjoyable start to the birthday celebrations for Dana!
We thank OMY.Sg and McDonalds Singapore for the Food Tasting invite. Do pop by your favourite McDonalds outlet to try their new breakfast menu. We promise it will not disappoint.
Here’s wishing all our readers a Blessed Easter filled with God’s love, grace and peace.

Wow! I didn’t know that indoor playgrounds can still be found at macs! I thought they did away with all their playgrounds. Will definitely check this place out 🙂
