We are thankful that despite our hectic schedules, we were able to set aside time to make a short trip to Kuala Lumpur during the September School Vacation.  Our sole purpose was to bring the princess to visit KidZania KL.  At our friend’s recommendation,  we booked our two nights’ stay at the One World Hotel for three reasons:

1. Favourable reviews on Trip Advisor (an important determining factor in my choice of accommodation)
2. Free daily Shuttle Bus Service to KidZania KL and
3. Right next-door to the ginormous 1 Utama Shopping Mall (which I’ve always wanted to visit)

We took the early 7.30am Jetstar flight from Singapore Changi Airport to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). At KLIA, we purchased coupon for the airport taxi which ferried us to the hotel in slightly under 40 mins (coupons can be purchased at the airport limousine counter itself).  The Taxi fare was approx RM100. Upon arrival, we were not only given an early check-in but a complimentary upgrade from the Deluxe Room to their Junior Suite Room! It was such a pleasant way to start our holidays!

Throughout our stay, we received warm, impeccable service. The staff was conversant in English and helpful with our queries on transport arrangements to KidZania. The Junior Suite we stayed in was clean, spacious and well-appointed.  But the trump card about the One World Hotel must be its prime location.  Situated right next to the award-winning 1 Utama Shopping Mall (with an adjoining ground level corridor), we are spoiled for choice in terms of dining, shopping and entertainment options. We loved the Lavender Bakery, Madam Kwan’s Restaurant, the Dragon-I Restaurant and the Oriental Cravings Cafe.

We’re thankful that both our trips to Kuala Lumpur this year yielded very pleasant hotel discoveries.  First the Westin KL (at Bukit Bintang) and now, One World Hotel (at Petaling Jaya).  Here’s to more short and sweet regional getaways!
