We are still in bereavement and will not be celebrating Chinese New Year this year. But I’ll like to share two easy Red Packet templates from the Timmy & Tammy series of Children’s Books which you can DIY with your kids. It’s simple, just download, print, cut and fold. And you’ll have two very unique Red Packets which you can present to those you love. A good craft to keep the kids occupied tonight after the reunion dinner…

We are avid supporters of local writers and have found this series of Timmy & Tammy storybooks excellent for emergent readers. The stories follow a pair of siblings, Timmy and Tammy, in exploring various prime sights around Singapore and talk about the different places and experiences unique to our country. Linguistically, they are good introductory readers for young children where they pick up reading skills, relate it to real life experiences and then have fun with the activity at the back of each book (much better than Peter and Jane, if you ask me). Kids being visual learners will also love the full-color, eye-catching illustrations that accompany each story. It’s a gem collection for the kids and proudly Singaporean.

I will like to win this set of Timmy and Tammy books for my two preschoolers ( 5 and 4 yrs old), as these books are localised production with some of the more familiar sights and landmarks that my children can able to recognise and familiar with especially the four copies of At Changi Airport, At Chinatown, At the Botanical Gardens and At the River Safari. Making Pineapple Tarts is another interesting book to share with the children about CNY, the tart making and the baking process. I always get my children to help out in the kitchen. It may get a little messy but the results are worth it.
These books are a bonus to my children as it help them learn how to read with colourful clear pages and sentences and linked to the places that we bought them to with local sights and sound.
All these, with stories still set in sentences our hometown, Singapore. Hope to win for my children as they enjoy reading as we can even discuss and talk over and over again.

I’d love to win this set of Timmy & Tammy books! It’s difficult to find books written about our culture, places of interests and certain parts of Singapore that you wouldn’t think to write about (Food court and MRT from the first series, Botanic Gardens from this series) for the children. On top of that, the characters are adorable, and the stories are told with such colourful and vibrant illustrations! But most importantly, they are written for different levels of readers. It’s not just something mommy and daddy reads to the children. The children can learn to read them on their own too!
Thanks for hosting the giveaway 🙂
