Direct from the US to Singapore, the world’s most-loved orphan – ANNIE – is back in town! This heart-warming, rags-to-riches story has become one of the best-loved family musicals of all time, boasting Broadway’s most memorable scores, fantastic visual choreography, a side-splittingly funny script and of course her adorable dog Sandy.
A story set in New York City, ANNIE is a story that showcased the resilience of the people at the time when the country was embroiled in the Great Depression, and that no matter how bleak it may seem, better things are always just over the horizon. This theme is evident in the lyrics in the eternal anthem of optimism, “Tomorrow”.
Other well-loved beloved scores for ANNIE includes “Maybe”, “It’s the Hard Knock Life”, “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile”, “Easy Street” and “I Don’t Need Anything But You”.
The U.S. National Tour of ANNIE, now in its second smash year, will play at The MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands from tomorrow, 24 August 2016. Directed by original lyricist and director, Martin Charnin for the 19th time, this production of ANNIE is a brand new physical incarnation of the iconic Tony Award®-winning original.
ANNIE also won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, seven Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, and the Grammy for Best Cast Show Album. It has since been performed in 28 languages and has been running around the world for 37 years. The classic film musical was released in 1982.

it is rare to find a musical that can be enjoyed as a family. Annie is perfect for my young boys and I to enjoy a musical together!
I watched Annie on TV when I was young and was inspired by the story and all the songs. I hope to watch this lovely musical with my kids this time!

Annie is a US broadway musical production which we do not get to see often and with so many winning awards, I am sure its definitely a good show worth watching. I still remember during my Poly days, I will go to the library to borrow tapes like Oliver, I love Lucy etc to watch during my break time but its only on TV. I have always been a fan of broadway musical but have never get a chance to see it live.
