Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see. – C.S Lewis
Hi, we are David and Angie. A warm welcome to our blog, ‘Life’s Tiny Miracles’!
This blog is a collection of our experiences and reflections living as a family of four in Singapore. We write about the beautiful and trying moments of everyday life – friendship, faith, family, food, travels, books, the ups & downs of parenting and all other things that shape us, delight us, and make our family grow. We are very honoured to be one of the winners of the Singapore Blog Awards ‘Top 10 Most Popular Singapore Blogs’ 2015.
Our journey to parenthood is an unconventional one, wrought with heartaches attributed to infertility and child-bereavement. We were certain that the blessings of parenthood would never be ours until our miracle baby, Dana came along. This blog originated in 2008 as ‘Princess Dana Diaries’ to record the tiny steps of faith as first time parents after nine years of childlessness and three child losses. In June 2014, we adopted our son, baby Alexander (or ‘Buddy’ as we call him) through divine intervention.
Why Life’s Tiny Miracles?
Well, why not? In this volatile world we live in, it’s good for the soul to practise gratitude and embrace every ‘miracle’ which come our way. These ‘miracles’ can be in the form of friendships, family ties, helping hands and life’s innumerable lessons. They can also come in the form of an answered prayer, a milestone or a special memory etched in tears. Do we face worries, struggles and disappointments in our lives? Yes we do. But we make a conscious choice to focus on life’s tiny miracles so we can be free to live the abundant, purposeful life God has intended for us.
