We took advantage of the long National Day weekend and escaped to Bangkok, Thailand for a short family vacation. One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to the TrueLove@Neverland Cafe....a themed dog cafe located in a residential district on the outskirts of Bangkok. We hired a taxi driver for a day to bring us to the Bangkok Safari in the morning, followed by the Cafe at noon. Here's a sneak peek! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSxlDUuZ-zg&feature=youtu.be It was … [Read more...]
The Rendezvous Hotel, Singapore – An Art-inspired Couple Getaway!
First off, I must say, of all the hotels we’ve stayed, this is the first one that that actually bundled free movie tickets with the room! With that, the Rendezvous Hotel sets the tone for their couple getaway unapologetic-ally! And we love it! Here’s our staycation experience. The ‘Gateway’ Whenever we drive down Bras Basah – one of Singapore’s prominent downtown roads, the hotel’s grand colonial façade would beckon as a gateway of sorts into Singapore’s downtown art precinct and that would … [Read more...]
Tips for Travelling with Children – From Infant to Primary Schoolers
This is a slightly long post because it lists down in comprehensive details some of the important issues we take into consideration when we travel with our children. We believe in travelling as a family, even though the children may be young, because we get to experience the world together and create new core memories. So despite the massive amount of planning and packing involved in bringing kids along, we still enjoyed every moment of it. From Seattle to Scandinavia, from Taiwan to … [Read more...]
Japan – The Complete Journey: Summer, 2015
As a family who loves travelling and soaking in the culture and the character of the place, it was just a matter of time before we step foot into Japan. But never in our wildest dreams did we ever expect to get such an in-depth taste of local life on our first trip there, all thanks to the meticulous planning of my wife and the impassioned volunteer goodwill local guides who showed us their Japan. Finally, never did we expect ourselves to ‘conquer’ and cover so much of the trilogy of theme parks … [Read more...]

Capri by Fraser, KL – A Little Gem for Families!
Waking up in the wee hours of the morning, I discovered to my shock (more like horror) that we had forgotten to prepare a flask of hot water to make milk for Buddy. In fact, all the used bottles were not even cleaned as we had returned late from our Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner with my extended family, whom I've not met in the past year. Earlier in the day, Angie had also discovered that we urgently needed some laundry service for our kids’ clothes as we had underestimated the number … [Read more...]

InterContinental Bangkok Hotel – Oasis in the City
This was turning out to be quite an ‘exceptional’ trip - our daughter, Dana started the trip ill. During breakfast on our first morning in Bangkok, she was too weak to join us for breakfast. But she needed some food with the medication, so while the wife stayed with her in the room, I went down to ask if the buffet restaurant could prepare congee for her. I approached a staff in the Espresso Restaurant and vividly remembered stating my request with “ My daughter is ill and I was wondering if the … [Read more...]
DIY Japan – Kyoto…and a fond Sayonara
I have a couple of confessions about this post. Confession 1: This is a long delayed post and I have very good reasons to procrastinate – I just didn’t want to say ‘farewell’ to our first Japan trip which we did DIY-style. Confession 2: Kyoto is chronologically not our last stop. Osaka was but I’ve decided to make Kyoto our last post to wrap up the entire ‘epic’ Japan vacation. Why Kyoto? Quite simply because of all the places we’ve visited this trip, Kyoto left the most … [Read more...]
