Beyond just lanterns, it was actually very culturally immersive! A unique place to learn just that bit more about Chinese culture and folklore! Here’s 10 reasons why you should visit: 1. Gigantic Lanterns: There are 10 beautifully lit, larger-than-life lanterns that depict the story … [Read more...]
Be a Garden Trooper at Gardens By The Bay!
I'm a plant lover and I look up to friends who have green thumbs, especially those who are able to plant (and harvest) their own crops of vegetables and fruits, be it at their own corridor garden or at the community plots. In fact, I was a 'Gardening Club' member when I was in Primary School and spent my Saturday mornings pruning plants (Ladies Finger, Brinjal, Lime and more) under my teacher's supervision! My Mom-in-Law who resides in Penang owns and curates a beautiful garden. When I … [Read more...]
Froth@Ascott Raffles Place Dining Review
I don’t know about you but I like to be pleasantly surprised. And this was exactly the experience I got recently when I visited a well-known restaurant here in its relocated premise at the Ascott at Raffles Place. A stone’s throw from Raffles Place MRT, right in the heart of Singapore’s CBD. Firstly, I was surprised that such an intimate and cosy restaurant can be found right in the heart of busy CBD. The 140-seater restaurant with its minimalist vibe opts for a dichotomy of simple black … [Read more...]

They are here! The world’s cutest, liveliest and 'angriest' birds are now just a stone’s throw across the causeway at the Komtar JBCC Mall! In fact, just take a short 5 minute walk from the CIQ (Customs, Immigration and Quarantine) building in Johor, you’re already face to face with these little critters that took the world by storm (and still is!) with their funny, addictive antics of whizzing through the air, hitting each other as targets and landing with a crude thud accompanied by their … [Read more...]
EA Detailer – Not Just Any Ordinary Car Grooming
Roaches!!!??? First, I have to say that we don’t eat in our car and we forbade our kids to do it too. Aside from the occasional takeaway or 'tapaos' that we buy home in the boot, eating in the car is a major ‘No, No’ for us. The only exception would the be occasional bottled milk feeds for Buddy. So,imagine my shock when early in the session with EA Detailer, I saw with my very own eyes small roaches crawling INSIDE my car cabin during fumigation! When the fumigation session ended, I … [Read more...]

Reflections from Bangkok Airplane Graveyard
This was originally intended as a plain (pun unintended) travel post but two things have changed it. First, the actual visit to this Airplane Graveyard itself. This is not a commercial tourist attraction. It is, technically, a junkyard that happens to house the fuselage and parts of three large commercial jet planes, one of which is that of a B747, Queen of the skies no less, left unceremoniously on this weed-infested land. It is obvious that whatever was the plan for this had not quite … [Read more...]
