In a flash, we've come to the last day of the year. It has been overwhelmingly hectic but God has kept us safe through our coming in and going out. Here's are some of the year's significant moments through our lens: January - Dana had her ears pierced at the Kids' Clinic@Bishan and we've no regrets! Dr. Oh is excellent and we can't recommend her enough. Our ear-piercing experience was recently published in The Asian Parents.January also saw Dana being enrolled in a new kindy … [Read more...]

Live like a Local with Roomorama
When one think of accommodation in Bali, sprawling Balinese villas with lush frangipani trees would come to mind. We decided very early in our trip planning that we would like to include a night or two's stay in a Balinese villa in our Free & Easy 'Bali for Kids' itinerary so that we can chill and explore Seminyak at leisure. When Roomorama, whose motto is: “Quality accommodation for the discerning traveler” offered us a chance to do a media review, the timing was simply … [Read more...]
Many Ways of Seeing…a Design Workshop for Preschool Kids
Dana attended a fun design workshop from the 'Many Ways of Seeing (MWOS) Series just before the school holidays started. The purpose of this series was to nurture a healthy sense of wonder in preschool children. Altogether, twelve K1 kids from two participating kindergartens were picked to attend this workshop held on 27 May 2013. We were delighted when the teacher informed us of Dana's participation. This wonderful half day workshop was specially developed and faciliated by Prof. … [Read more...]

Here are 5 of our family's favorite outdoor activities, at home and away: 1. Going … [Read more...]

Excitement Quotient at Adventure Cove Waterpark, Sentosa!
Early November, my family and I were invited to the exclusive members' preview of Sentosa's newest attraction - the Adventure Cove Waterpark. Honestly, I had my reservations about the Marine Life Park, mainly due to the controversy surrounding its procurement of rare marine life for captivity. Besides, we’ve been to other excellent water-themed parks in Australia with giant water slides, man made geysers, gigantic decorative starfishes and … [Read more...]
Around the World in 18 Days: Taiwan!
All Swans are White… One of the reasons I love to travel is, like most, to discover new things - new places, attractions, culture, people and be inspired and enriched by the whole experience of discovery. Almost everything in the modern world, I believe, can attest to the influences from the Western World (primarily the American and British Culture) – fashion, finance, entertainment, education, business… For me, anything else would be a poor copy. It didn’t help that, growing up, I was … [Read more...]
Baby TV
While holidaying in Bali in June, we came across this commercial-free TV channel called Baby TV. We were initially skeptical of such a channel but after few viewings during our short vacation in Bali, we became a instant convert. We found that BabyTV’s programmes are geared to address the developmental milestones that our baby encounters in her first years and the programmes are made up of short stories and experiences that reflect her world. Later, we found out that all of Baby … [Read more...]
My adorable Princess at 16 months
When people say time flies, I believe parents couldn't agree more. Our princess turned 16 months on 5 Aug and I've only found time to document her milestones today. This is perhaps the best toddler age; she's bubbly, giggly, spontaneous, inquisitive and very communicative. At this age, toddlers are trying to make sense of the world around them through language and hence, they love to mimic our actions and words. Dana does this everyday, much to our amusement. She's growing by leaps and bounds esp … [Read more...]
