Saturday morning, we brought the Princess to have her ears pierced. She had requested for it since last year but we procrastinated for few reasons, chief of it was the fear of infection if we did not administer the proper after-care and also, we wanted to search for a place whose staff are trained to work specifically with young children and whose equipment are properly sanitized. With the advice of some Mommy friends who have daughters, I booked an appointment with a lady paediatrician who … [Read more...]

My first Ezy-link Card!
Kids are fascinated with all manner of public transport: buses, trains and MRT. Ever since the Princess has outgrown the height limit of 90cm, she can no longer qualify for free travel on public transport. Today, I finally had the time to bring her to apply for her very own Child Concession Ezy-link Card. She was extremely delighted to have a card to call her own (a big step towards being a big girl now!), but for Mommy & Daddy, we secretly wish she will remain a baby forever...The card … [Read more...]
20 Realistic Resolutions for 2013!
One reason I sometimes dread the start of a New Year is the nagging feeling that I've yet to set my New Year Resolutions. Inevitably, top of many people's list include ambitious goals to lose weight, save more money, exercise more, eat healthy and and look good. Don't get me wrong. I like goals. I like resolutions. I like the idea of starting with a clean slate — I certainly hope the New Year will be better than the last. For the past week since we're returned from our vacation, I been … [Read more...]

The Christmas tree is up, with it, our favourite Christmas carols plays in the background and an atmosphere of peace and joy fills the air. It is an annual tradition for us to put up the tree to usher in our favourite month of the year and we rope in Dana to dress it up with ornaments, many of which Daddy and I accumulated from our travels around the world. Count down to Christmas with DIY Advent Ornaments!
It was pouring cats and dogs yesterday evening. Daddy had a report to complete; Mommy had to edit the photos taken at LEGOLAND so Dana enjoyed a special movie treat, watching a Charlie and Lola DVD which we had loaned from the National Library. After an episode on 'How Many More Minutes Until Christmas', she came and requested if we can make an Advent Calendar together. In all our years of existence, we've never had an Advent Calendar but being the loving Mom that I am (*erhem*), I hastily … [Read more...]

We wanted a casual, relaxed party where guests would be pampered with good food and good fun. We also wanted kids to be actively engaged hence added in the carnival element. THE CARNIVAL VENUE We booked the poolside BBQ pits, prayed for good weather and proceeded to doll up the place. With the help of my cousins, we inflated 50 silvery mylar stars and … [Read more...]

The Origins of our Love…
I'm listening to Taylor Swift's You Belong with Me as I typed this post to get myself in the mood to share our love story. Many of our friends are surprised that David and I have been wed 13 years, 'That long!?" they usually remarked. Over the years, our love has mellowed into a deep, mutual commitment and affection for each other. We have grown to become the indispensable companion and soul-mate which God has designed husbands and wives to be... Our love story started *er-hem* in the … [Read more...]
