During our short getaway to Kuala Lumpur last week, my MIL led us to this nice restaurant in the back lanes near the hotel where we stayed which serves delectable Hong Kong Dim Sum. Prices are reasonable, service brisk and environment clean and bright. We are delighted to have discovered this gem as we weren't fond of all the fast food joints that abound in these shopping areas. Here are some dishes we ordered:A fav of ours - Steamed Cheong Fun with Prawns - so smooth and soft it melts in your … [Read more...]
Food, Glorious Kampong Food!
During our Mothers' Day Staycation last weekend at the Changi Village Hotel, we dined at its in-house Saltwater Cafe. We are generally not buffet fans but we do indulge a little on special occasions. If you have family members who can only take Asian Food (like Dana's Great Grandma) or you are entertaining overseas guests who would like to be acquainted with the many yummy dishes which make Singapore a 'Food Paradise', then you must take them to Saltwater Cafe's Kampong Dinner … [Read more...]
Food Review: Museo at Quayside Isle
Sunset at Quayside IsleIt was our first time venturing into Quayside Isle (圣景湾) but we liked the relaxed vibe the moment we stepped foot on the timbered promenade lining the cove. Quayside Isle is Sentosa's newest integrated retail and dining destination (right next to W Sentosa Hotel). For non Sentosa Cove residents like us, the journey there itself is like a 'mini-excursion' of sorts, giving us heightened anticipation of the surprise that awaits. Mesmerizing marina … [Read more...]
Dine in the Ocean
The Ocean Restaurant@RWS As the first and only female Iron Chef in America, Mississippi-born Cat Cora's Ocean Restaurant at Resorts World Sentosa bursts into the local culinary scene in February amidst much fanfare. As the name implies, the main draw of the Ocean Restaurant is that diners get to enjoy a 'one-of-a-kind' experience dining in the world's largest aquarium. The menu features "seasonal, light and sustainable seafood" with Mediterranean, Californian and Asian … [Read more...]

Foodie Friday: BEAN there, done that…BEANSTRO Review
Mention the name ‘ Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’ (CBTL in short) and one would immediately conjure up images of a cosy, intimate coffee joint thick with the smell of freshly grounded coffee beans and hushed conversations over a good cuppa. With the opening of its second casual dining restaurant BeanSTRO, CBTL chain has extended their customer’s experience beyond just good coffee and cakes. Foodie Friday: Slurpy Beef Stew and Strawberry Spinach Salad!
We had decided to have a simple Valentine's Day Dinner at home. After work, I made a brief stop at Cold Storage to grab some fresh spinach greens, a punnet of Korean Strawberries, toss them together in a simple vinaigrette dressing as a starter. I had prepared this salad for few potluck parties and received rave reviews. Foodie Friday: Bon Apetit Poulét!
Today's food review is one of our new discoveries in 2013 which has since become our family's favourite restaurant. Yes you heard it - French dining that is both delectable for the Asian palate and easy on the wallets. Poulét (pronounced as 'Poo-lay', meaning chicken) is a chain of French casual dining restaurants offering affordable French classics. It has expanded to 3 outlets in Singapore within a short span of one year but we have visited the Great World City branch twice this … [Read more...]
Foodie Fridays: Fairy Bread Sandwich (with a touch of Love)!
Fairy Breads are the rage in Australia but I've never thought much about it. I couldn't understand children's fascination with sprinkles except that they are colourful and much too sweet. Until I chanced upon this recipe which makes a nice Valentine's gift and a handy Bento snack. Instantly, I turned it into a mini-bonding session with the Princess. It's simple, fuss-free and attractive, what's not to like about it? Recipe adapted from: Sugar & ClothTo make this, … [Read more...]
