Every year end, I would invite the Hubs to pen his thoughts on the year that has passed. Here’s his review on 2022. Photo: Cozying up at Queenstown New Zealand. June 2022 We all lamented the opportunities lost when the world came to a Covid stand-still in early 2020. But what were the first few things you did when Singapore and the world started reopening? Since the passing-away of my late father 38 years ago while I was still 13, I have always lived with the … [Read more...]

Teen, Transitions and Travel – Reflection on 2021 and ‘Pandemic Parenting’
2021. A year wrought with sweat, tears and prayers to make family life work. Before it ended, the Husb shared with me his reflections for the year. I asked for him to pen it down and here it is: The ‘Multi-Tasking Working Parents Task Force’ At this point of writing, I’m not too sure if ‘Happy New Year’ is a phrase I’d like to wish others especially since we will enter the 3rd year of this long drawn global pandemic. Truth be told, there were other major ‘shifts’ on the home … [Read more...]
My Home-based 22kg Weight Loss Journey
Those who have been following the hubby's Instagram will know that he has lost 22 kg since the pandemic started. As his wife, I saw him ‘transform’ right before my eyes, slowly and steadily - from a hefty 102kg to what he is now, at his BMI weight of 80kg. That’s about 22 kg in less than 2 years. Or about 1kg per month! It has been no mean feat for him, being overweight nearly all his adult life and being a busy, working dad, clocking in 10-12hour days at work. He documented this significant … [Read more...]

KURIOS by Cirque du Soleil – Singapore Review
"Kurios is Cirque du Soleil's strongest act in years." The Gazette We are familiar with LIVE acrobatic circus shows filled with trapeze artistes, balancing acts, jugglers and clowns. However, when it comes to Cirque Du Soleil, it’s always special and different. But EVEN THEN, Kurios Cabinet of Curiosities - Cirque Du Soleil’s 35th production, takes it literally and metaphorically, to new heights. Hello 2019 – 10 Lessons from a ‘Shitty’ 2018
Pardon the French, but 2018 had been just that kind of a year for the hubby as well. While I was going through my own health issues, the husband has been having his own too. Sometimes the 'pillar' of our lives who support us silently from the sides, have their own struggles which they may not be so ready to share...until being asked. So this is for all the husbands out there...from mine: HELL of a Year “There’s 40% chance it could be prostate cancer.” my urologist muttered … [Read more...]
