Every year for the past decade, we would endeavor to throw a birthday bash for our daughter that appeals to her sporty and active nature. It’s our own way of celebrating her life. In a way, it’s like our gift to her. This year, we thought we’d let her try wake boarding (a.k.a flow riding). ‘Surfing in Singapore?’ Yes and right on Singapore’s very own holiday island of Sentosa – the Wave House Sentosa. What a memorable party it turned out to be! Here’s sharing our experience of our … [Read more...]

{Flash Giveaway} Win a Faber Licence Membership
Unlimited Cable Car Rides and more Taking the cable car is one of the most unique experiences one can have in Singapore, even for locals. In fact, visiting Mount Faber when taking the cable car complements and completes the whole experience. Mount Faber offers a commanding view of Singapore from 100m above sea level. Better still, one can enhance the experience there by dining at one of the two restaurants (Spuds & Aprons and DUSK), savouring some fine cuisine while watching … [Read more...]
Kids’ Swim Class at The Swimming Room
Starting Young…Starting Fearless As parents, we’ve always believed in exposing our kids to a plethora of experiences. When they are younger, malleable and more flexible, it is far easier to teach them new skills. One of the skills we hope to ‘ignite’ in our kids is their innate ability to balance and float, both of which can be learnt through swimming. Our little Buddy is naturally cautious by nature. However seeing how his elder sis loves to cycle, blade, swim and ski, he himself is keen … [Read more...]
Evita In Singapore 2018: A Review
‘Evita? In Singapore?’ I raised my eyebrows when I first caught sight of the advert last year. ‘This would truly be a first’ I thought, and in many ways it is. After all, this is not your typical Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that would usually land on Singapore shores. There’s no dramatic love story with a sweeping score (Phantom of the Opera), no colorful dances and jig-worthy tunes (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) nor are there any make-believe animals (CATS) or one with … [Read more...]
SRT’s The Little Company Re-Stages ‘The Nightingale’ 2018
SRT’s The Little Company celebrates its 25th Anniversary with a re-staging of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved tale, The Nightingale! My family thoroughly enjoyed The Nightingale when it was last staged in 2014 in Mandarin. This month, the English adaptation of Danish fairy tale comes back to the KC Arts Centre! Written by Olivier Award-winning playwright, Mike Kenny and directed by Kate Golledge (of Chicken Little, Treasure Island, Red Riding Hood), The … [Read more...]
Rusutsu Resort – Best of Hokkaido, Under One Roof
A Chance Encounter With a 2-Storey Carousel We first stepped into Rusutsu Resort by chance. During our Hokkaido trip in Dec 2016, we took the airport shuttle bus from Niseko en-route back to New Chitose Airport, and it made a quick stop at this resort to pick up passengers. We took the chance to come down and stretch our legs but what greeted us left us awestruck – a two-storey high carousel (free for in-house hotel guests) complete with a warm, inviting, almost Disney-like ambience. I … [Read more...]

Ortho-K for Kids at W Optics
Our daughter Dana has been diagnosed with myopia since she was about 6. We discovered this through the mandatory school check-up. I remembered distinctly I felt very disappointed as she is a sporty girl who enjoys outdoor activities, including gymnastics, cycling, roller-blading, swimming and skiing. I even reproached myself for not taking better care of her eyes. However, I am told the onset of myopia could be due to genes and for her, the insatiable appetite in reading. The … [Read more...]
