Dana attended her first kindergarten carnival last Saturday. We were told this is a long lasting tradition where the entire family comprising of Principals, teachers, staff, parents, students and even alumni come together to raise funds for the school. We found it meaningful and did our part to chip in by buying carnival coupons, donating food to be sold for lunch and Daddy volunteering as the Event Photographer.Let us revisit the Carnival through his lens...The Harding Campus is a very … [Read more...]

Falling in love with The Art of the Brick!
The beautiful ArtScience MuseumThe hubs had been wanting to bring Dana and I to this exhibition since beginning of the year but the non-museum rat in me kept procrastinating it. Last Friday, he had the rare afternoon off and insisted on bringing us to ArtScience Museum before it ends its run. Not wanting to dampen anyone's spirits, I tagged along only to be a happy convert at the end. Here's why.We are finally here!At the entrance, we were given a brief background of the man behind these … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesdays: Why Wednesdays are Special…
Wednesdays are special to us. While Wednesdays are not particular frowned upon (unlike Mondays) or welcomed (like Fridays), Wednesday is the only weekday we feel like a normal family - one where my family wakes to see me still around and be warmly greeted by my embrace...one where I am able to give Dana a ride to school and enjoy a quick breakfast with my wife before I head to work. You see...in my profession, I leave home daily at 6:30am before the sun rises, start work at 7am and … [Read more...]
Tuesday’s Thoughts: Shadow of a Tiger Mom?
Growing up, I never had the chance to learn Music...the financial situation at home simply did not allow this luxury. My sister and I could only secretly envy those peers who had the better fortune of being sent for piano lessons. They were the blessed ones. Fast forward 30 years later, my preschooler is enrolled in a well-reputed music programme which requires weekly parental accompaniment and sctive involvement. The hubs was delighted, '2 for the price of 1', why not? And so we … [Read more...]

We bought her Dora legos, cute Mellchan dolls and tea partysets; we brought her to the theatres to enjoy Princess-themed movies such as 'Tangled' and 'Brave'; we enjoyed family movie nights watching many well-loved … [Read more...]

Once I downloaded the Instagram app, I was hooked. For the uninitiated, Instagram is an Iphone (and most recently, Android) App that allows you to take photos, apply filters and share with your friends.
