Last month, we went to Tecman Christian Bookstore in search of a new women’s devotional bible (which was supposedly an overdue Mother’s Day gift promised by Daddy). As usual, we lingered around in the bookstore even after I found my bible; browsing the wide variety of resources on sale.

In the far corner of the shop, this series of Children’s Worship CD from ‘Streams of Praise Taiwan‘ caught my attention with its colourful, bright graphics. Daddy liked the fact that each CD comes with free accompanying Karaoke minus 1 tracks (which we can use for Children’s Ministry) and a free DVD live recording of the songs! It was said that one of the means to learning a language is through songs. We bought 2 CDs on the spot with dual intentions; to enable Dana to know God a little better through worship and for her to master Mandarin through singing these songs. It turned out to be one of the best shopping decision we’ve ever made this year.

Dana loved singing to the Mandarin worship songs in car rides and picked up quite a few beautiful ones which she can now sing independently. This is a feat considering we rarely converse in Mandarin at home. Daddy and I also enjoyed the atmosphere of worship each time the songs are played. The songs are well-picked and the meaningful lyrics draws out the gratitude we have towards our God, who blessed us with this earthly family.

Even though we’ve had the CDs for more than a month, we never got to playing the DVD. After dinner earlier this evening, Daddy finally played the DVD and we were even more impressed! The DVD showcased the Streams of Praise kids choir praising God in unison with sign language and the harmony of their voices. The songs were interspersed with short drama kits, explaining important christan concepts such as ‘The Meaning of the Cross’ to the young audience. How awesome it is to hear children worship God with all their hearts!

This is indeed an excellent production from Streams of Praise Taiwan. It is our prayer that Dana would come to know the Lord early in her life and we believe these CDs will nurture the foundation for her faith. I’ll like to leave you with Dana’s three favorite songs from the DVDs. May you be blessed by the children’s worship unto the Lord.
