Day #3 of the October Playbook Challenge<\/a> is to get our children to tell a story<\/span> using this prompt ‘If I were….what would I be?” Daddy was able to send Dana to school this morning so we attempted this activity in the car ride…<\/p>\n

D: If I were a butterfly, I would be rainbow-coloured. I’ll fly around with my friends to eat leaves…<\/b><\/span><\/span>

Us: Dana, caterpillars eat leaves, butterflies don’t…<\/b><\/span><\/span> <\/b>

D: Ohh…then what do they eat for breakfast?<\/b><\/span><\/span> <\/b>

<\/span>Us: They drink nectar from flowers…<\/b><\/span><\/span> <\/b>

<\/span>D: Oh I know! If I were a butterfly, I would be rainbow-coloured…I’ll fly around with my friends to drink nectar then we’ll fly around all day and play all day…THE END. <\/b><\/span><\/span>

<\/b>That’s our feeble attempt at creating a short story with Dana.  Not an elaborate one but it’s good for a start. I’m thankful that it gives us a glimpse into our child’s imaginative world.  When Daddy returned from work and was shown the drawing, he observed that Dana has drawn three smiley butterflies which symbolised the three of us. We are honoured to be featured in a small way in her storytelling!<\/p>\n
