this hotel with a slight tinge of regret.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cA\nwhat Museum?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the regrets was that we did not spend enough time at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Teddy Ville Museum (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/teddyvillemuseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>TeddyVille Museum<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong>  Honestly, David and I had trouble trying to prioritize the things we wanted to do on this jaunt of a trip back to Penang, his hometown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/teddyvillemuseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">TeddyVille Museum<\/a><\/strong> is an amazing collection of miniature and gigantic teddy bears depicting Penang&#8217;s unique historical and cultural identities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" The <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/teddyvillemuseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">TeddyVille Museum <\/a><\/strong>is an excellent place for the whole family to deepen our appreciation of Penang.&nbsp; Hence we left our itinerary free and easy. We looked around for a hotel where we can chill and enjoy lots of unhurried quality family time. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/doubletree3.hilton.com\/en\/hotels\/malaysia\/doubletree-resort-by-hilton-penang-PENMBDI\/index.html?WT.mc_id=zELWAKN0APAC1DT2DMH3LocalSearch4DGGenericx6PENMBDI\">DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang<\/a><\/strong> was the perfect fit. At the time of our booking, it had just been awarded &#8220;<strong>2018 Best Family Resort in Malaysia &amp; Best Leisure Hotel in Malaysia&#8221;. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Family Suite:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The newly launched family suite, boasts of living room and 2 large bedroom (King and Twin). It is perhaps one of THE largest family rooms we have ever stayed in throughout our travels. We watched sunsets and sunrises with a commanding view right in the privacy of our hotel room. The kids even spotted wild monkeys on the treetops and an eagle soaring overhead one evening. There are also toys and books for the kids to self-entertain  I like it that there are child-friendly toilet facilities within the Kids Club and the staff paid strict attention to hygiene. pool provided us countless hours of fun just splashing and swimming.&nbsp; The cabanas and man-made beach made-up for the real McCoy across the busy road which may be unsafe for kids due to the rocky Kitchen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wherever we travel, we always look forward to trying the local dishes.&nbsp; The hotel\u2019s Makan Kitchen which serves up authentic Malaysian breakfast, which we can&#8217;t get enough of! This includes their Nasi Lemak and David&#8217;s personal favorite, roti canai and roti bakar (bread toasted over charcoal!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" The kids enjoyed the spread. &nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambience at the Makan Kitchen is relaxed.&nbsp; With the hotel\u2019s beautiful pool just steps away, we enjoyed our alfresco breakfasts during our stay. Service at the Makan Kitchen, was always prompt, friendly and heartfelt.&nbsp;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Off\nto Town!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service that departs twice daily to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town, 20 minutes\u2019 drive away, to Gurney Drive and back to Batu Ferringhi. We also liked the cold fruit-infused water at the lobby while we waited to check-in. Such litte thoughtful gestures go a long way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we love the luxe Family Suite and the wonderful facilities, it was the warm hospitality we encountered that made our stay distinctive.
