Which one?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cordless or Hand-stick Vacuums are quite the rage in homes these days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At one glance, cordless vacuums have\nobvious advantage over their traditional (think big, bulky and noisier)\ncounterparts.&nbsp; Particularly so in space\nconscious Singapore where most of us live in high-rise apartments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Same\nSame but Different:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently there are many brands and models\nof cordless vacuum cleaners in the market, each having its own seemingly unique\nfeatures but yet serving the same function \u2013 to clean homes more effectively. The\nprice range can be quite close hence making the decision making process\nconfusing. Price aside, no one wants to buy a home appliance (or anything for\nthat matter) that doesn\u2019t serve our needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Comparison:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have been using the latest <strong>Dyson Cyclon 10 Absolute+<\/strong> for a few\nmonths now. However, we were genuinely curious, on how the Dyson would compare\nagainst the many other cordless vacuum brands that have sprung-up over the\nrecent years. So, on our own, we spent nearly 4 months reviewing the other\nprominent brands by enquiring, testing and using them to see which is truly efficient\nand value-for-money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the purpose of this comparison, we\ncompared the following brands and models (listed here in alphabetical order):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Bosch \u2013 BBS1224<\/li><li>Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute +<\/li><li>Philips Speed Pro Max <\/li><li>Samsung Handstick Vacuum<\/li><li>Tefal Air Force 360<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To be objective, our reviews were conducted\nin the following manner:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Acted as a \u2018mystery shopper\u2019, not representing any brand<\/li><li>Randomly visited 4 major electrical retailers across Singapore<\/li><li>Consulted with the brand representatives and promoters extensively<\/li><li>Conducted the same usage test and asked the same questions at each visit<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For it to a genuine test by a conventional Singapore home-family\nuser, our usage test will cut through the technical jargon and terms as well as\nthe range of nozzels etc . Instead we focus on what truly matters for the\naverage Singapore home:&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Weight of the vacuum and Ease of Handling (with one hand!)<\/li><li>Noise Level (No one wants to wake a sleeping baby or a tired parent!)<\/li><li>Ease of clearing the Dust Tank (it should be user-friendly and uncomplicated)<\/li><li>Type of Filtration &#8211; HEPA* or otherwise (Because we don\u2019t want dirty air and dust to be recycled back to us!)<\/li><li>Other Convenient Features (That would nice thank you!)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>*HEPA: <strong>H<\/strong>igh-<strong>E<\/strong>fficiency <strong>P<\/strong>articulate <strong>A<\/strong>ir filters are commonly used as a benchmark in the industry, including hospitals, to trap fine particulates. Full use up to 65 minutes.
