Singapore Zoo is the ideal place to cultivate a love for flora and fauna. As working parents, we usually can only visit the Zoo during weekends and school holidays.&nbsp;To maximize our visit, we usually arrive early in the morning. Going early has many benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Watch the animals at their liveliest as they wake-up, much like us!<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy the complete range of family activities including animal feedings, animal shows and a new obstacle ROPE COURSE for kids!<\/li>\n<li>Beat the crowds: Singapore Zoo is a major tourist attraction. Overseas tourists tend to arrive in large groups after breakfast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that is exactly what we did last Saturday on Buddy&#8217;s 4th birthday where we discovered 2 new ways to enjoy the Singapore Zoo.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We arrived early at 8:30am and headed straight for Ah Meng\u2019s restaurant for the <strong>Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife<\/strong> where we enjoyed a wholesome family breakfast, in the company with some of the zoo\u2019s wildlife including Ah Meng, his offsprings and a ball python.&nbsp; At the buffet, we were thrilled to know that the breakfast menu now includes Kellogg\u2019s cereals which is a crowd favorite.<\/p>\n<p>As we know, Kellogg\u2019s cereals are packed with healthy ingredients known to increase red blood cell production, maintain good eyesight and healthy skin, protect nervous system and build muscles, help brain function and release of energy. We bookmarked the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrs.com.sg\/en\/singapore-zoo\/make-my-day.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Singapore Zoo\u2019s website<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;to keep check on the show timings, feeding times as well as create a customised tour route according to the activities we want to do.&nbsp; Our visit coincided with Kellogg&#8217;s Family Day so we also stopped by the Kellogg&#8217;s booth to play some games. The kids had fun with some cup stacking activity and getting temporary animal tattoos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. A Rope Course!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While on the tram, the kids were thrilled to discover that there\u2019s an exciting Rope Course WITHIN the Singapore Zoo! Kids will have to don a safety harness and for those going for the bigger course, a helmet.<\/p>\n<p>Both courses have different routes with different challenges. For the younger ones, the facilitator or parent can stand next to them to guide them. For the older kids (and adults), the course is bigger and taller enabling us to enjoy a commanding view of Mandai Lake and the forest around.&nbsp; Visitors who want to enjoy the view without climbing can pay a small fee of SGD5 to walk up a flight of stairs to the top of the large course to take in the sights.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Houbii Rope Course<\/strong> is exciting and gives our kids a chance to bond as the older sis guided her younger brother and nudged him along. For Buddy, who just turned 4, it was really a coming-of-age experience as he attempted most of the course on his own, gaining confidence with each step.
