Dana attended a fun design workshop from the ‘Many Ways of Seeing (MWOS) Series just before the school holidays started. The purpose of this series was to nurture a healthy sense of wonder in preschool children.

Altogether, twelve K1 kids from two participating kindergartens were picked to attend this workshop held on 27 May 2013. We were delighted when the teacher informed us of Dana’s participation. This wonderful half day workshop was specially developed and faciliated by Prof. Masayo Ave (from Japan) and held in Dana’s kindy. There was a special presentation for parents in early June which we missed as we were away in Bali so here are some photos we received today.

After the children finished drawing their leaves, they were cut out and displayed onto the gigantic tree silhoutte on the glass panel. The final result is astonishing!

It’s incredible how the final masterpiece turned out under the guidance and creative direction of Prof. Masayo. The children were fascinated and exclaimed in wonder. Dana enjoyed herself tremendously. Kudos to the Design Singapore Council and Early Childhood Development Agency for collaborating to run this Many Ways of Seeing (MWOS) Series. This is an excellent initiative to sensitize kids to the beautiful world around us and to nurture their budding creativity. We certainly hope Dana would have the chance to attend more such interesting workshops in the future. Big thanks to the teachers at SJCK for nominating Dana for the workshop and for sending us these awesome photos.
